FC 27 Touchline Magic Evolution: Requirements, Upgrades and Is It Worth 20,000 Coins?
FC 27 Touchline Magic Evolution: who can go in, every level's upgrades, the 20,000-coin cost and whether it's worth it for your LW or RW.
Correct as of 13 Oct 2026, 09:30 BST (Europe/London)
A how-to for the Touchline Magic Evolution: who can go in, what your winger comes out as, and whether it's worth paying for. It costs coins or FC Points, takes four matches and brings an LW or RW rated 80 or lower up to 84 OVR. The full upgrade table and eligible-player list are on the FUTWIZ Touchline Magic page; we don't print prices here.
Quick answer: a paid four-match upgrade for wingers up to 80 OVR
What is the FC 27 Touchline Magic Evolution, who can use it, and is it worth it?
Touchline Magic is a paid Evolution for LW and RW cards rated 80 or lower. It costs 20,000 coins or 150 FC Points, has four levels with one match each, and takes the card to up to 84 OVR, with Acceleration and Sprint Speed capped at 85 and a PlayStyle upgrade at Levels 2 and 3 (what your card gains depends on how many PlayStyles it already has). The whole Overall upgrade comes at Level 1, so the card is ready to play after your first match. It's worth it if you've got an 80-or-lower winger who already fits your squad and needs pace and close control. If you'd be buying a winger just to put through it, compare the total cost with simply buying a better card.

Who can go in
The requirements
FUTWIZ lists five requirements for Touchline Magic:
- Overall: 80 or lower
- Position: LW or RW
- Excluded positions: ST, CM and CAM
- PlayStyles: 7 or fewer
- Pace: 86 or lower
The Pace cap is the point of the Evo. It rules out wingers who are already very quick, because it's built to add speed to cards that don't have much.
Main position or alternate?
A lot of the cards on FUTWIZ's eligible list are RM, LM or full-backs with LW or RW as an alternate position. If you want to use one of those, make sure the game offers it on the Evolution screen before you pay. [CONFIRM IN GAME: whether a card with LW or RW as an alternate position (not its main position) can enter.]
What your winger becomes
Every level's upgrades
Each level asks you to play 1 match with the Evo player in your active squad, in Squad Battles on Semi-Pro or above, or in Rush, Rivals, Champions or Live Events. FUTWIZ's upgrade table, with the cap for each in brackets:
| Level | Upgrades (cap) | Task |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Overall +10 (84), Sprint Speed +10 (85), Agility +10 (84), Dribbling +10 (84), Long Shots +7 (81) | Play 1 match |
| Level 2 | PlayStyle, Positioning +7 (81), Vision +7 (79), Balance +10 (83), Composure +10 (83) | Play 1 match |
| Level 3 | PlayStyle, Finishing +7 (82), Reactions +10 (83), Short Passing +7 (80), Stamina +7 (82) | Play 1 match |
| Level 4 | Acceleration +10 (85), Ball Control +10 (84), Curve +7 (83), Shot Power +7 (81), Skill Moves +1 (4★) | Play 1 match |
The two PlayStyles
FUTWIZ shows a PlayStyle at Level 2 and another at Level 3 but doesn't name them in its text. Community reporting says Level 2 adds Technical and Level 3 adds Quick Step. [CONFIRM IN GAME: Level 2 adds Technical and Level 3 adds Quick Step, and whether each is the standard PlayStyle or PlayStyle+.]
- EA describes Technical as a PlayStyle for "a Player who regularly tries to beat an opponent by using technical dribbling ability (with little to no use of skill moves or little to no physical contact)".
- EA describes Quick Step as a PlayStyle for "a Player who is known to have a quick burst of speed when accelerating on and off the ball".
FUTWIZ shows both PlayStyle upgrades with a cap of 3. If your card already has three or more PlayStyles, check the Level 2 and 3 screens to see what it actually gains before you pay. [CONFIRM IN GAME: what a card that already has three or more PlayStyles gains from Levels 2 and 3.]
What's capped
- Overall stops at 84. A 74 or lower gets the full +10, while an 80 gains only 4.
- Acceleration and Sprint Speed stop at 85. A winger already at 85 or above gains nothing there.
- Skill moves stop at 4★. A 4★ or 5★ skiller gets nothing from Level 4's skill move upgrade.
- Every other upgrade stops at its own cap, so a card that's already above a cap gains nothing there.
Is Touchline Magic worth 20,000 coins?
We don't quote market prices, because they move every hour. Here's how to decide:
- Do you already own the winger? Then the cost is fixed at 20,000 coins or 150 FC Points, and the question is whether an 84-rated version of a player you already use is worth that to you. For a card that fits your league or nation chemistry, it usually makes sense.
- Would you be buying the winger first? Add the card's price to the 20,000 coins, then compare the total with what an 84-rated winger costs on the market. Check FUTWIZ Players and Lowest Price Ratings before you buy.
- How low is the base card? The lower the starting Overall and pace, the more you get for the same fee. An 80-rated winger with 84 pace gains far less than a 74 with 75 pace.
- Coins or FC Points? The other paid Evos on FUTWIZ's hub, the Roles++ set, cost 7,500 coins or 150 FC Points. Touchline Magic is the same in FC Points but far more in coins, which makes it the most expensive Evo on the hub if you're paying with coins.
- Think about what's next. An 84-rated winger will be over the cap for many future Evos with lower limits. That's not a reason to skip it, but don't run a card you were saving for another Evo.
It's also unclear whether you can run more than one winger through it, so plan on one card for now. [CONFIRM IN GAME: whether Touchline Magic is repeatable.]
How to pick a player
What to look for
We don't rank cards with prices or meta scores. Here's a simple way to pick:
- Chemistry first. You're paying for this, so pick a winger who fits your league or nation links and will actually start.
- Low pace, decent dribbling. The Evo adds the most to a card with room to grow under the 85 pace caps and the 84 dribbling cap.
- Weak foot and skill moves. Touchline Magic adds skill moves (to 4★) but not weak foot, so a card with a 2★ weak foot stays that way.
- Existing PlayStyles. Check the base card on FUTWIZ Players. If it already has Technical or Quick Step, that part of the Evo may be wasted.
- Preferred side. Decide whether you want an inverted winger cutting inside to shoot or a natural winger crossing, then test the card in the Squad Builder.
Example eligible wingers (FUTWIZ, 13 October)
These wingers were on FUTWIZ's Touchline Magic eligible list on 13 October, with LW or RW as their main position:
| Player | Position | OVR | PAC | SHO | PAS | DRI | Skill Moves | Weak foot |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lukebakio | RW | 80 | 85 | 79 | 75 | 82 | 4★ | 3★ |
| Barnes | LW | 80 | 82 | 81 | 75 | 81 | 3★ | 4★ |
| Barrenetxea | LW | 79 | 84 | 75 | 74 | 81 | 3★ | 4★ |
| Yeremy Pino | LW | 79 | 75 | 74 | 80 | 81 | 3★ | 4★ |
| Dufour | RW | 79 | 78 | 77 | 78 | 81 | 4★ | 3★ |
| Dreyer | RW | 79 | 80 | 80 | 76 | 79 | 3★ | 3★ |
| William Gomes | RW | 77 | 84 | 73 | 73 | 79 | 4★ | 3★ |
| Zeballos | LW | 76 | 85 | 67 | 68 | 80 | 5★ | 3★ |
They're examples, not a ranking. Yeremy Pino has the most pace headroom of the higher-rated cards, while Zeballos is already a 5★ skiller, so Level 4's skill move upgrade adds nothing for him. Use the eligible list's league and nation filters to find a winger who fits your squad, and check prices on FUTWIZ Players.
