How FC 27 Future Stars Upgrades Work
Future Stars Player Items have four performance milestones: two potential OVR upgrades, a PlayStyle+ reward and a 5-star Weak Foot reward. OVR boosts are capped at 86 and 87 respectively.
Future Stars Upgrade Requirements - Most Leagues
The following milestones apply to players outside NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF.

Important Future Stars Upgrade Rules
Which positions count?
ATT/MID: CM, CAM, LW, LM, RW, RM and ST earn their performance rewards from combined goals and assists. DEF/GK: GK, RB, LB, CB and CDM earn those rewards from clean sheets. CDM is in the DEF/GK group.
Which matches count?
Only domestic league matches count. OVR milestones require a player to start matches; for a clean sheet to qualify, the player must feature in the match. Cup games, continental competitions and international matches are excluded.
What if a player already has the reward?
A player who already has one PlayStyle+ receives an extra base PlayStyle instead. A player who already has 5-star Weak Foot receives 5-star Skill Moves instead.

When does FC 27 Future Stars upgrade tracking start?
Future Stars tracking began on 9 October 2026. EA has scheduled the live upgrades to release on 3 February 2027.
How do FC 27 Future Stars players get OVR upgrades?
In most leagues, Future Stars players need 4 starts for +1 OVR up to 86 and 8 starts for another +1 OVR up to 87. In NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF, the targets are 2 and 3 starts respectively.
How do Future Stars players earn a PlayStyle+?
In most leagues, attacking and midfield players need 7 combined goals and assists, while defenders and goalkeepers need 4 clean sheets. In NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF, both groups need 2 of their respective milestones. The PlayStyle+ reward is capped at one.
How do Future Stars players get 5-star Weak Foot?
In most leagues, attackers and midfielders need 10 combined goals and assists, while defenders and goalkeepers need 7 clean sheets. In NWSL, MLS, Liga MX and LPF, the targets are 4 goal involvements or 3 clean sheets.
Do Champions League, cup or international matches count?
No. EA states that only domestic league match performances count towards Future Stars upgrades.
Does a substitute appearance count towards a Future Stars upgrade?
The OVR milestones require starts, not substitute appearances. For clean-sheet milestones, the player must feature in the match. EA has not explicitly clarified every substitute scenario for goals and assists.
What if a Future Stars player already has a PlayStyle+ or 5-star Weak Foot?
A player who already has one PlayStyle+ receives an additional base PlayStyle instead. A player who already has 5-star Weak Foot receives 5-star Skill Moves instead.
Do Future Stars Academy Evolutions use these live upgrade rules?
