Quick answer: a no-matches Evolution for Silver strikers

What is the FC 27 Nine Duty Evolution, who should I use, and how long does it take?

Nine Duty is a Training Camp Evolution for strikers rated 74 or lower, so it's built for Silver cards. Instead of playing matches, you send the player to Training Camp for each of its four levels. FUTWIZ shows the whole thing taking about one day, and the card comes out at up to 79 OVR with the Gamechanger PlayStyle and up to 3★ Skill Moves.

Who can go in

The requirements

FUTWIZ lists five requirements for Nine Duty:

  • Overall: 74 or lower
  • Position: ST
  • Excluded positions: CB, CM and CAM
  • PlayStyles: 7 or fewer
  • Pace: 85 or lower

The Pace cap is the one to watch. The quickest Silver strikers can be over 85 and won't qualify, however good they look.

Checking a card fast

Open the Nine Duty page on FUTWIZ to see the requirements next to a list of eligible players. Look a card up on FUTWIZ Players, then test it in the Squad Builder. The game's Evolution screen only offers eligible cards from your Club, so that's the final check.

FUTWIZ's eligible list also includes some wide players who have ST among their positions. If you want to use one of those, make sure the game accepts it before you plan around it. [CONFIRM IN GAME: whether a card with ST as an alternate position (not its main position) can enter.]

What your striker becomes

The headline upgrades

FUTWIZ's upgrade table for Nine Duty, level by level:

  • Level 1: Overall up to 79, plus Positioning, Volleys, Free Kick Accuracy, Agility and Dribbling.
  • Level 2: adds the Gamechanger PlayStyle, plus Finishing, Penalties, Short Passing, Balance and Composure.
  • Level 3: Acceleration up to 78 and Skill Moves up to 3★, plus Shot Power, Vision, Long Passing and Reactions.
  • Level 4: Sprint Speed up to 78, plus Long Shots, Crossing, Curve and Ball Control.

The exact cap for every attribute is on the FUTWIZ Nine Duty page, so we won't repeat them all. FUTWIZ doesn't make it clear whether Gamechanger arrives as the standard PlayStyle or PlayStyle+, so check the Level 2 screen. [CONFIRM IN GAME: standard Gamechanger or Gamechanger+.]

Pace comes last

Acceleration and Sprint Speed only go up at Levels 3 and 4, and only to 78. So a striker who's already quick keeps more of an edge than a slow one, and a card that's already above 78 in either won't gain there.

What's capped

Two caps are worth knowing before you choose:

  • Skill Moves go up to 3★. A striker who's already on 3★ gets nothing from that upgrade.
  • Overall stops at 79, so a 74-rated card gains up to 5 and a 68-rated card gains more.

Best players for Nine Duty

What to look for

We don't rank cards with prices or meta scores. Here's a simple way to pick:

  1. Pace close to the 85 cap. FUTWIZ shows no pace upgrade before Level 3 (Acceleration) and Level 4 (Sprint Speed), and both are capped at 78.
  2. Skill Moves of 2★ or lower, if you want the Skill Moves upgrade to count.
  3. Weak foot. It isn't in Nine Duty's upgrade table, so a card that already has a 4★ weak foot keeps that advantage.
  4. Existing PlayStyles. Gamechanger is added on top, and there's a cap of 7 to get in.
  5. A card you'll actually start. It's free and quick, so a striker who fits your chemistry beats a "best" card who doesn't.

Example eligible strikers (FUTWIZ, 7 October)

These strikers were on FUTWIZ's eligible list on 7 October, with ST as their main position:

Hwang Hee Chan73743★4★
Ana Franco72843★4★
Hountondji71823★4★
Satpayev68833★4★

They're examples, not a ranking. All of them already have 3★ Skill Moves, so none of them gains from that upgrade. Check each card on FUTWIZ Players for its PlayStyles and current price, and use the Nine Duty page's filters to find options from your own league. Lowest Price Ratings helps if you're buying one.

How Training Camp Evolutions work (EA rules)

Locked, but still in your Club

EA Help says Training Camp Evolutions upgrade players passively. While the timer runs, your player is unavailable, but you can still see them in your Club. When the timer ends, you claim the upgrades, and the player can go into another Evolution.

  • No SBCs while it's running. EA says players in an in-progress Evolution can't be used in SBCs. They can be once it's complete.
  • You can cancel, but EA says you won't get the upgrades you haven't earned yet, or any coins or FC Points back.
  • Timers vary. EA says Training Camp Evolutions can last from a few hours to more than 30 days. For Nine Duty, FUTWIZ shows about one day in total. [CONFIRM IN GAME: time per level shown on the Training Camp screen.]
  • Gallery: EA says Evolutions don't add Gallery Item Score; Gallery counts the original item.

Training Camp vs match-objective Evolutions

Goal Guardian, Regista Realm and Wing Specialization ask you to play matches with the Evolution player. Nine Duty doesn't: you just wait. The trade-off is that the card is out of your team while it's away, so don't start it right before you need that striker.

EA's Destined for Glory page says the campaign includes one Training Camp Evolution each week. EA doesn't name Nine Duty, so we can't say whether it's one of those.

Chaining after Nine Duty

When Nine Duty finishes, the card is free to go into another Evolution (EA Help). Check the FUTWIZ Evolutions hub for what an up-to-79 striker can enter next, and preview the result on the in-game Evolution screen before you commit.

One timing note: Flank Identity is close to its start-by deadline (FUTWIZ showed about a day left on 7 October), so if you're also using that one, start it first. [CONFIRM: Flank Identity may have passed its start-by deadline by publish; check the tile, and cut this line if it has.]
