Quick answer — grinding Rivals in the first worldwide week (from 25 September)

How do Division Rivals work in FC 27 for Standard / worldwide players in week 1?

Division Rivals is PvP that runs all week. EA's Launch Update Pitch Notes (14 Sep 2026) promise bigger reward gaps between Divisions, Bounties that are back and appear more often, more FUT Coins, and all Pack rewards tradeable at launch.

Your first week after worldwide unlock also counts towards two other things straight away: Champions Qualification Points (CQP) from Rivals and Squad Battles (the Division 6 requirement has gone), and Season Points, at 15–100 SP per eligible match depending on result and mode, up to 850 SP a day.

What to do: play towards your weekly reward tier, keep your tradeable packs and coins, and build up CQP for the first Champions window you can reach. If you missed the Friday 25 September unlock checklist: worldwide launch day plan. More on Champions: Champions CQP + Token Store.

What EA changed in FC 27 Rivals

Tradeable packs at launch + higher coins

The Launch Update is clear: more FUT Coins from Rivals, and all Pack rewards will be tradeable at launch. Post-match coins in Rivals (and Champions) can be several times the ~500–600 FUT Coins that were typical in FC 26, and Squad Battles gives more too.

Tradeable packs are the big news for Standard players in week 1: you can sell what you pack on the Transfer Market instead of it just sitting in your Club.

Bounties more frequent

Bounties are back and appear more often, giving you extra ways to earn Weekly Reward Points or climb faster. Take them when they come up, and check the live Rivals tile for active Bounties, as EA hasn't published a schedule.

Division reward gaps

EA wants a bigger difference in rewards between Divisions, so climbing pays off more clearly. Check your own Division's reward preview in-game; full Div 10 to Elite menus on other sites aren't from EA.

Weekly points: hit your tier (check in-game)

15 or 30 points? (community reports; check in-game)

Check in-game (community and other guides, not EA): most guides say weekly Rivals points are win = 3 / draw = 1 / loss = 0, with 15 points for the standard reward tier and 30 points for the upgraded tier. Check the points and reward preview for your Division before you rely on those numbers.

Until you've checked, the simple advice is: play until your reward tile shows the tier you want, then decide whether more matches are for climbing, coins, SP or CQP.

Keep playing after 30 for climb / SP / coins

Matches after you hit your weekly reward still pay off, through more FUT Coins and Season Points. Higher Divisions also earn CQP faster, so climbing is about more than bragging rights.

Use it alongside Season Pass Level 30 if you're saving SP for Pass rewards.

EA Division 1 upgraded example (and how to read it)

EA's example list; check your Division tile

EA gives Division 1 Upgraded Rewards as an example, not the full list for every Division:

Reward (EA example — Div 1 Upgraded)
95,000 Coins
4× 84+ Gold Players Pack
5× 83+ Gold Players Pack
1 of 5 83+ Gold Players
Giant Gold Pack (similar to FC26 Rare Mega Pack)
TOTW Player Pack

Use this list to get a feel for what the rewards look like (coins, tradeable packs and a TOTW pack) at the top. Your Division's standard and upgraded preview is the only reliable list for your Club.

Why we don't list every Division

Check in-game (community, not EA): other guides publish full Div 10 to Elite tables and CQP figures for each Division. Those can clash with the live game and with EA's changes (no Division 6 requirement; Squad Battles also gives CQP). Go by the Rivals rewards tile in-game.

Rivals → Champions path

CQP from Rivals + Squad Battles; no Div 6 gate (EA)

EA’s Champions changes for FC 27:

  • CQP earned through both Rivals and Squad Battles
  • Division 6 requirement removed
  • Higher Rivals Divisions earn CQP faster
  • If you earn enough CQP, you can qualify; your Division no longer decides whether you can

If you prefer playing the AI, you can build CQP in Squad Battles, while Standard players grinding Rivals add it up through their matches.

First Finals weekend (community date; check the calendar)

Check in-game (community schedule, not EA): other Champions calendars often say the first Season 1 Finals start on Friday 2 October (evening UK) and run into the following Monday morning. Don't assume Finals are open on the weekend of 26–28 September unless the Champions tile in-game (or EA) shows it. Check before you plan your first Finals.

Pair with Season Points & Squad Battles

15–100 SP / match, 850 SP / day cap (EA)

Eligible matches give between 15 and 100 Season Points, depending on result and mode, up to 850 Season Points a day. That cap is the number to plan around if you're mixing Rivals with Squad Battles and Live Events for the Pass.

FAQ

When do weekly Rivals rewards drop?

Community reports say weekly Rivals rewards come on Thursdays, as usual. Claim times vary by region, so check the time on your Rivals rewards tile rather than a UK time from another site.

Are packs tradeable?

Yes, at launch. EA says all Pack rewards from Rivals are tradeable at launch.

Do losses still give Season Points?

EA gives 15–100 SP per eligible match, depending on result and mode. Check the table in-game; EA hasn't said exactly how much a loss gives.

Can I earn CQP in Division 10?

EA removed the Division 6 requirement and says that if you earn enough CQP, you can qualify. Higher Divisions earn CQP faster, but your Division no longer decides whether you can qualify. Check how much CQP you earn on your tile.

Is Champions on over the weekend of 26–28 September?

Don't assume Finals are open that weekend. Go by the Champions tile in-game. Other calendars usually put the first Finals in early October, but that's community information until it's confirmed.
