What is FC 27 TOTW 2, and how do Season 1 Team of the Week systems work?

Early Access already includes Team of the Week 1 and 2 (EA Launch Update Pitch Notes, 14 Sep 2026). In Season 1, the community helps choose one player in each of the first six TOTW squads by voting in the Ratings Database with an EA Account. A new vote opens each Tuesday, and you can change your vote until Monday 11:59pm PT. The players chosen get a Community Player marker in-game (Season 1: Ones to Watch, 16 Sep 2026).

From TOTW 1 onwards, eligible TOTW items use Holographics: Regular for overalls ≤87 and Pristine for ≥88. They also use the same Item Score as Streamlined SBCs and Gallery. The Champions Token Store can offer TOTW items with an exclusive Red design. Ones to Watch items get +1 overall when the player earns a qualifying TOTW; more on the Ones to Watch tracker and Wins to Watch tracker.

Worldwide / Standard buyers unlock around Friday 25 September 2026, partway through the TOTW cycle. See the worldwide launch day plan.

What to do: check the confirmed TOTW 2 squad on FUTWIZ Players, vote for the Community Player within EA's Tuesday–Monday window, then use Lowest Prices and FUTWIZ Players when you open packs or trade.

What Early Access already delivered (TOTW 1 & 2)

EA's Launch Update lists TOTW 1 & 2 as Early Access content for Ultimate / Ultimate+, alongside Squad Foundations, Challenge/Upgrade SBCs, Ones to Watch themed Player SBCs, Evolutions and Season Points. If you've had early access since the key dates (PC 17 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC; other platforms 18 Sep, 00:00 regional), you've already been packing and trading TOTW cards. What Standard buyers unlock into on 25 Sep

Standard / worldwide players don't start from scratch. By 25 Sep (other platforms 00:00 regional; PC worldwide 24 Sep 23:00 UTC), early-access clubs already have TOTW 1–2 cards, the Community Player vote for the first six squads is running, and the Holographic Regular/Pristine rules have applied since TOTW 1. How to read the squad table (no OVRs until they're live)

The confirmed starting XI and subs are on FUTWIZ Players (TOTW filter); check in-game too. We don't print an OVR table or chemistry styles here.

When you read the squad on FUTWIZ Players:

• Position / club / nation help with chemistry. Plan in Squad Builder before you force a link.
• OVR comes from FUTWIZ or packs only, never from memory or a rumour list.
• Holographic tier follows EA's rule: Regular ≤87, Pristine ≥88 from TOTW 1 onwards (Launch Update). Check the card in-game.
• A Community Player marker (if there is one) means the community vote chose that slot; see below.

Community-reported names vs confirmed FUTWIZ DB

Around 22 Sep 2026, community reports suggested possible TOTW 2 headliners (other sites' guides mention names such as Olise, Raphinha / Wilson, Salah, Marquinhos and Semenyo). These are community-reported, so check FUTWIZ or packs before treating them as official. We won't print an “official” OVR grid based on them.

How we label names:

1. If FUTWIZ or in-game packs confirm a name, it's confirmed.
2. If only community reports have the name, it stays community-reported until FUTWIZ or packs confirm it.
3. A rumour list is never EA-confirmed.

What to do: open FUTWIZ Players (TOTW and special filters), check Lowest Prices, then decide whether to keep the Item, use it for score in a Streamlined SBC, or put it towards Gallery. We cover TOTW every week.

Season 1 TOTW systems (EA rules)

Community Player vote (Tuesday period → Monday 11:59pm PT)

From EA's Season 1 page:

• Vote in the Ratings Database while signed into your EA Account.
• A new voting period opens each Tuesday.
• You can change your vote until Monday 11:59pm PT.
• The community helps choose one player for that week's TOTW.

UK readers (BST, UTC+1 in September): take care converting Monday 11:59pm PT when you set a reminder. PT is UTC−7 or UTC−8 depending on US daylight saving, so it isn't midnight on Monday in the UK. Go by EA's PT time.

First six TOTW squads — why the vote matters

In Season 1, the community vote applies to each of the first six TOTW squads. That covers Early Access and the first week after worldwide unlock. If you care which player, club or nation gets the Community Player marker early, vote each Tuesday to Monday rather than waiting.

After those six squads, assume the Community Player vote is for Season 1 only, unless EA extends it. EA hasn't promised it for the whole year.

Community Player marker in-game

EA says players chosen by the community have a Community Player marker in Ultimate Team. It tells you how the player was chosen, not what they're worth. Prices still depend on supply, chemistry demand and Holographic tier, so check Lowest Prices rather than assuming the marker raises the price.

That split comes from EA's Launch Update, not a community spreadsheet. Check the card in packs before you trade based on its tier.

Why Item Score matters for Gallery + Streamlined SBCs

Every Player Item has an Item Score made up of Overall + Rarity + Holographic. EA says it's the same system used by Gallery and Streamlined SBCs. Bonuses stack: EA's example is a Holographic TOTW, which gets both the rarity bonus and the Holographic bonus.

EA hasn't published a full Item Score table in its Pitch Notes, so check scores in-game. EA also says it will monitor scores and give plenty of notice before changing them, so note the date on any screenshot you save.

Champions Token Store exclusive Red Item design

EA confirms the Champions Token Store can offer Team of the Week items with an exclusive Red design. It's a different look and a different way to get them; EA hasn't published separate OVRs.

Check in-game before you spend Tokens:

• Whether Red TOTW is in the Store this rotation
• The Token cost and rotation (in-game only)
• Whether the Red version uses the same Holographic Regular/Pristine rules as pack TOTW

Store stock rotates, so don't assume Red TOTW is always available.

TOTW inclusion = +1 on the OTW performance path

Ones to Watch items can gain +1 overall when the player earns a qualifying Team of the Week (the performance path). That's separate from Wins to Watch (club form: 3 of the next 6 domestic league wins from 18 Sep 2026). Full rules, transfer exceptions and trackers:

FAQ

When does the community TOTW vote open and close?

A new voting period opens each Tuesday. You can change your vote until Monday 11:59pm PT. Vote via the Ratings Database while signed into your EA Account (EA Season 1 page).

Are TOTW Holographics different from normal Holographics?

EA applies Holographics to eligible specials from TOTW 1 onwards, with the Regular ≤87 / Pristine ≥88 split. Item Score still uses OVR + Rarity + Holographic, the same as Gallery and Streamlined SBCs. Holographic art on TOTW cards may look different from other cards, so check in-game. EA hasn't published a separate score table for TOTW.

Can Standard Edition players still get TOTW 2 after 25 Sep?

Yes, partway through. Worldwide unlock doesn't remove TOTW 2 from packs, the market or the Champions Token Store while it's still live. You just join after Early Access players have had TOTW 1 & 2. Check Players and Lowest Prices after you unlock, and see the worldwide launch day plan.

Where do Red TOTW items come from?

EA says the Champions Token Store can offer TOTW items with an exclusive Red design. Pack TOTW and Red TOTW from the Store are different ways to get them. Check stock and costs in-game before you spend.

Is the community squad list the official EA squad?

Not on its own. Community lists are a useful hint, but FUTWIZ or in-game packs confirm the squad. Treat any name they don't show as unconfirmed.
