FC 27 Gallery Tokens Explained: How Item Score, Sets & Grades Work

FC 27 Gallery Tokens explained: how Item Score, Gallery Sets and grades earn tokens, and what to buy in the Gallery Token Store before stock changes.

Published Updated By FUTWIZ

Correct as of 19 Sep 2026 (Europe/London)
Gallery Set grades, Token Store stock and the cost of buying and selling players change with new content and prices, so check in Ultimate Team. We don't give pack odds, permanent coin profits or a full official Item Score table.

Gallery Tokens are the currency you earn by grading Gallery Sets in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Ultimate Team. You spend them in the Gallery Token Store. At launch the store features Base Hall of FUT Player Items, and EA says it will grow with kits, crests, Holographic rewards and more.

Short answer: you earn Gallery Tokens in FC 27 by grading themed Gallery Sets, and higher grades pay more Tokens. Item Score (OVR + Rarity + Holographic) drives those grades, and it's the same scoring system as Streamlined SBCs. Cards still count after you sell them or use them in an SBC. Spend Tokens in the Gallery Token Store on Base Hall of FUT (and later on cosmetic and Holographic rewards).

What to do: learn Item Score once, then fill cheap Sets, grade them for Tokens, and price-check Hall of FUT targets in the FC 27 Players DB and Lowest Prices.

EA’s Launch Update Pitch Notes (14 Sep 2026) set out the loop like this:

  1. Fill themed Gallery Sets (clubs, leagues, rarities, campaigns).
  2. Grade the Set. Higher grades award Gallery Tokens (and Sets also give Club customisation such as crests and kits).
  3. Spend Tokens in the Gallery Token Store on Base Hall of FUT at launch, with kits, crests, Holographics and more added later.

Third-party tools (16–18 Sep 2026, not linked) led the early talk about Tokens with Token planners and Set cost tables. This guide explains how the system works, with EA's rules first, then a dated practical route, and points you to FUTWIZ's tools.

Items still count after you sell or SBC them

EA confirms Player Items can count towards Gallery Sets and stay in your Gallery history even after they leave your Club. Sell them on the Transfer Market or use them in an SBC, and they still count towards Sets you fill later (including Sets that arrive months from now).

What that means: early on, you can buy, grade and sell. The main cost is the 5% tax on sales (plus any price changes); you don't have to keep every gold you graded with. Community and third-party FAQs add that loan cards don't count. Check that in the game if you're unsure.

Item Score in 60 seconds (shared with Streamlined SBCs)

OVR base + Rarity + Holographic stacking

Every Player Item has an Item Score based on:

  • OVR (base score)
  • Rarity (bonus)
  • Holographic status (bonus)

EA states this is the same scoring system used for Streamlined SBCs and Gallery. Bonuses stack — EA’s own example is a Holographic TOTW, which gets both the TOTW rarity bonus and the Holographic bonus.

EA hasn't published a full, permanent Item Score table in its Pitch Notes. Community sites sometimes show launch examples (silvers vs golds vs high specials). Treat those as examples, not an official table, and go by what the in-game grade checker shows. EA also says it will monitor Item Scores and give advance notice before changing them.

Why specials / Holographics push grades faster

Special Items and Holographics add more Item Score than plain golds of the same rating. That helps with Gallery grades and Streamlined SBC targets.

Holographics at launch (EA): from Team of the Week 1 onwards, eligible Campaign, TOTW, Hero, ICON and other special Items in packs can appear as:

  • Regular Holographic: 87 OVR and below
  • Pristine Holographic: 88 OVR and above

They have the same in-match Attributes as the normal version, but add more to your Gallery Item Score. EA also links Gallery Level milestones to chances at special Holographics, and says Holographics are tradeable.

Doing Streamlined SBCs? The scoring rules are the same; use the SBC solutions hub.

Fill themed Sets (clubs, leagues, rarities, campaigns)

At launch EA promises more than 100 Sets, covering major men’s and women’s leagues and clubs, plus Rarity Sets such as Squad Foundations and Team of the Week. A Starter Set introduces the feature. Sets stay live for the year.

New Sets arrive at selected moments, not every week and not with every Campaign. The first post-launch Set arrives at Worldwide Launch: Season 1 Combined Rarities (Ones to Watch + Destined for Glory + Future Stars). Eligible Items already in your Gallery history can count towards a new Set even if they're no longer in your Club.

A third-party Gallery tool (updated 17 Sep 2026, not linked) listed 126 Sets. That's a mid-Sep count that fits within EA’s “100+”, not an EA figure.

Base Grade + Bonus Grade (tags) = Total Score → letter grade

Community analysis of the game (a third-party FAQ, 17 Sep 2026; not an official EA formula):

  1. Sum Item Scores → Base Grade
  2. Meet Tags → Bonus Grade (% on top)
  3. Total Score gives you a letter grade (usually D to S in live tools)

Each grade can award a fixed number of Tokens. On many Sets, lower grades pay 0 Tokens until you reach a higher letter, so “can I fill it?” isn't the same as “will this grade pay Tokens yet?”

Key tags to understand (First Owner, TOTW, Same League, Holographic)

Tags are bonus conditions on a Set. The main ones to learn early:

Tag (examples)Why it matters
First OwnerCards you packed or earned from objectives usually score much more than bought cards for the same Set, so it's a big early boost
TOTWA special rarity tag; the percentage goes up with how many TOTW Items you use (community-reported tiers vary by tag, so check in-game)
Same League / Same Nation / Different ClubBonuses for filling a Set with a theme, a bit like chemistry
HolographicExtra Item Score on the card itself, and possible tag bonuses depending on the Set

Exact percentages change with live definitions. FUTWIZ doesn't have a dedicated tags tool yet, so use the in-game grade preview and check candidates in the Players DB.

Regrading through the season

Sets aren't one-and-done. EA's Deep Dive and community FAQs agree you can improve a Set later (swap in Campaign items, Heroes, ICONs, Holographics) and regrade it. According to third-party guidance (not linked), you earn the difference in Tokens for the new grade; you don't get the full Token payout twice.

That's why “grade cheap Sets now, regrade when you have specials” is a plan for the whole season. There's no need to rush on day one.

Per-Set cosmetics and Tokens

According to EA:

  • Every Set can reward Club customisation (club-specific crests and kits).
  • Higher Grades award Gallery Tokens.

So you get cosmetics and Tokens from Sets. Tokens are what you spend in the Token Store; cosmetics are for your Club's look.

Progress across Sets builds your overall Gallery Level. EA says there are bigger rewards at key milestones, including chances to earn special Holographic Items.

EA’s Launch Update doesn't give a full table of level rewards. Other sites sometimes list milestone tables, but they're not from EA's Pitch Notes, so check in Objectives or Gallery in-game. Our advice: go for Set grades for Tokens, and keep an eye on the Gallery Level milestones for the bigger Holographic rewards EA describes.

Base Hall of FUT at launch (check live prices and tiers)

From EA: Base Hall of FUT Player Items are among the featured Token Store rewards at launch, and they're available throughout FC 27. Special Campaign Hall of FUT versions come in packs later. Base Hall of FUT Items can go into Evolutions if they meet the requirements. Hall of FUT chemistry follows the Heroes rules (+1 League / +1 Nation when in position).

Store tiers reported in early coverage (an 18 Sep 2026 guide; check the store before you spend):

Tokens (other sites, mid-Sep)Examples named in early coverage
750Alexandre Pato, Hulk
500David Luiz, Doumbia, and other mid-tier names in that table
400 / 300Lower Token tiers (e.g. Guarín / McGeady-type value picks in that site's ranking)
100League away-kit picks (from that site's store notes)

Those names, OVRs and Token prices come from other sites' reports of the live store, not EA's Pitch Notes. Check the in-game Gallery Token Store on your platform before you work towards a specific target. Then open the card in the FC 27 Players DB for roles, PlayStyles and chemistry, and build around your pick in Squad Builder.

Kits, badges, rotating rewards later

From EA: the Token Store changes through the year, with new Kits, Crests, Holographic rewards and more. Launch Hall of FUT isn't the only thing worth saving for; cosmetics and Holographics are on the published roadmap too.

How to check stats on FUTWIZ Players DB

There's no official EA “best Hall of FUT” ranking, and other sites' scores are just their opinion. Here's how to check for yourself:

  1. Confirm live Token cost in-store.
  2. Open the player on Players DB.
  3. Check roles / PlayStyles / chem plan in Squad Builder.
  4. If you plan to put them through Evolutions later, check the Evolutions requirements.

A practical early Tokens path

The tips below are dated 19 Sep 2026 (Europe/London) and draw on mid-Sep Tokens guides and Gallery tools on other sites (not linked). Market costs and reachable grades change, so check again before you spend coins.

Starter Set + cheap club Sets first

A practical early route, based on third-party tools (not linked):

  • Complete the Starter Set (the tutorial Set; that tool shows a small Token payout at a high grade).
  • Start with cheap small-club Sets that already reach A / S with market golds (that site's mid-Sep examples included Frosinone, Costa Adeje Tenerife, Málaga CF, Birmingham City and Logroño United; these can change, so check live).
  • Don't expect big-league or big-club Sets to pay many Tokens early on, while you can only reach low grades.

Buy → grade → sell loop and 5% tax caveat

Because cards stay in your Gallery history after you sell them:

  1. Buy the cheapest lineup that reaches a Token-paying grade.
  2. Fill and grade the Set in-game.
  3. Sell the players back.

What it really costs: mostly the 5% tax plus any drop in prices, not the full price of the squad. A mid-Sep third-party planner put ~500 Tokens at roughly ~50–60k coins after tax for a David Luiz–level target at the time. That figure depends on the market and comes from a third-party tool (not linked), so please don't treat it as a FUTWIZ or EA guarantee. Price your fodder yourself on Lowest Prices.

Sets to deprioritise early (big leagues / big clubs until specials exist)

Our advice (which may change): big league Sets and 20-card big-club Sets often need specials or a higher Item Score to reach a grade that pays Tokens. Mid-Sep notes on other sites called several big leagues and Heroes-style Sets poor early value, because the grades you could reach paid nothing. Come back to them once you have more TOTW, Campaign and Holographic cards, or First Owner specials that boost your grade for free.

Squad Foundations Set + Foundations objective players crossover

EA lists Squad Foundations as a launch Rarity Set. If you earned the untradeable Foundations objective players from your starter league pick, they're natural First Owner fillers for that Set once the full objective group is available. Other sites also mention a small Token boost once the Foundations midfielder arrives; check in Gallery or Objectives rather than counting on a fixed amount.

FAQ

No. Not with FC Points or from packs, according to community and third-party FAQs. You earn them by grading Sets and, where live content allows, through Objectives and Live Events. Check the current ways to earn them in-game.

Do loan cards count?

No (community and third-party FAQs, in line with EA saying Items that “passed through your Club” count). Cards you own and later sell or use in an SBC still count; loans are the usual exception. Check in-game if a loan card looks eligible by mistake.

No. The old Collection Book mostly tracked whether you'd ever owned a player. Gallery grades themed Sets, builds your Gallery Level, and pays Tokens, cosmetics and milestone rewards. Ownership history still matters, but scoring and rewards are new.

When is the first new Set after launch?

From EA: the first post-launch Gallery Set arrives at Worldwide Launch. It's Season 1 Combined Rarities (Ones to Watch + Destined for Glory + Future Stars). Worldwide timing from the Pitch Notes: PC 24 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC; other platforms 25 Sep 2026, 00:00 regional. Follow OTW upgrades on FUTWIZ Players.

The Gallery feature is part of Ultimate Team generally. According to a third-party FAQ (not linked), the 3D Gallery Hub is only on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Treat that as community / third-party reporting unless EA confirms it in a Pitch Notes update. Menus on older consoles or mobile may differ.
