FC 27 Streamlined SBCs Explained — Item Score, Submissions & Holographic Bonuses
FC 27 Streamlined SBCs explained: how Item Score works, why several submissions beat a full XI and how Holographic bonuses change what you submit.
Correct as of 23 Sep 2026 (Europe/London)
A guide to Item Score for SBCs. For live challenge names, timers and coin costs, use the FUTWIZ SBC tool and the game. This page explains how the system works; it isn't a list of solutions.
Quick answer — Streamlined SBCs vs classic SBCs
What are Streamlined SBCs in FC 27, and how does Item Score decide what I submit?
Streamlined SBCs let you put eligible Items from your Club towards a target score over several submissions, instead of building a full XI with chemistry, league and nation rules for every challenge (EA Launch Update Pitch Notes, 14 Sep 2026; the FUT Deep Dive covers submissions in more detail). They're available on console and PC at launch. The Companion App gets Streamlined SBCs later in Season 1, but EA hasn't given a date, so don't expect to submit on the app at worldwide unlock.
Every Player Item has an Item Score made up of Overall + Rarity + Holographic. It's the same system as Gallery. Bonuses stack (EA's example: a Holographic TOTW gets both bonuses). EA will monitor scores and give plenty of notice before changing them. EA hasn't published a full score table, so the game is where you'll find the numbers.
What to do: open the live FUTWIZ SBC hub, read each Streamlined target score in-game, then use Lowest Prices and Players DB to pick eligible Items.
Target score + multiple submissions (plain English)
Think of a Streamlined challenge as a progress bar, not a single squad puzzle:
- The SBC shows a target Item Score (and sometimes other rules, such as a minimum OVR; check the live card).
- You pick eligible Items and submit them towards that score.
- You can build it up over several submissions. Partial progress is part of the design (EA Deep Dive / Launch Update).
- Duplicates can help: EA says you can submit multiple versions of the same Item, including duplicates, towards the target.
Traditional SBCs still exist for more puzzle-like Challenges (chemistry, league and nation rules). Use Squad Builder for those; for Streamlined SBCs, plan your score and check fodder prices.
Console/PC now; Companion later in Season 1
| Surface | Streamlined SBCs | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Console / PC client | Yes at launch (Early Access and worldwide) | EA Launch Update |
| Companion App | Later in Season 1; no firm EA date | EA Launch Update |
| Web App | Not mentioned for Streamlined at launch, so submit in the game until the apps change | EA plus community reporting; see Web App can/can’t |
Season 1 Ones to Watch runs 17 Sep – 22 Oct 2026. “Later in Season 1” could be any time in that window (or later, if EA's plans slip), so wait for an EA post or an app update before you plan to use Companion.
Why this matters for Standard buyers on 25 Sep
Worldwide unlock (PC 24 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC; other platforms 25 Sep, 00:00 regional, according to Editions & Release Dates) is when most Standard buyers first try Streamlined Foundations and upgrades in the game. Early Access clubs have already had a week of submissions, so you're joining SBCs that are already live. For live solutions, see the SBC solutions hub guide and tool.
What Item Score is (SBC lens)
OVR + Rarity + Holographic building blocks
EA’s building blocks for every Player Item:
| Component | Role |
|---|---|
| Overall (OVR) | Base contribution to Item Score |
| Rarity | Bonus (specials score differently from common cards; check in-game) |
| Holographic status | Bonus when the Item carries a Holographic |
We don't give points per OVR, percentage boosts or a colour-coded table. If you need a number, open the Item in Ultimate Team and read the score it shows.
Same system as Gallery
Item Score is shared with Gallery. For Sets, grades, Gallery Tokens and the Token Store / Hall of FUT, see our Gallery guide. This page sticks to SBCs:
- Completing / grading Gallery Sets → Club customisation and Gallery Tokens
- You spend Tokens in the Gallery Token Store (Base Hall of FUT at launch; the store changes over time)
- Items still count in your Gallery history after they leave your Club (sold or used in an SBC), according to EA's Launch Update
- Full guide: FC 27 Gallery Tokens explained
That's the overlap. Sets, Token Store tiers and Hall of FUT chemistry are covered on the Gallery page.
Stacking bonuses (as EA describes them)
EA’s own example: a Holographic TOTW gets both the rarity bonus and the Holographic bonus. What that means for SBCs:
- A special can sometimes add more score than a higher-rated common card. Check in-game; don't assume.
- A Holographic special can add even more. Again, check in-game.
- TOTW / other campaign specials matter for score and for opportunity cost versus holding for TOTW chem or market demand.
For Holographic tiers on TOTW cards: Regular ≤87 / Pristine ≥88, from TOTW 1 onwards (TOTW 3 hub).
No public full table: check the in-game screen
To be clear: EA hasn't published a full, permanent Item Score table in its Pitch Notes. Community spreadsheets and third-party guides sometimes show launch examples. Treat those as unchecked against the game. We explain the system; the game shows the actual scores.
If you save screenshots, note the date, because EA says scores can change (with notice).
How a Streamlined submission works
Reading the target score on an SBC
On a Streamlined challenge card, look for:
- Target Item Score (the bar you're filling).
- Eligibility rules, if there are any (minimum OVR, allowed rarities and so on, as shown on the live SBC).
- Progress from earlier partial submissions.
- Reward preview as shown in-game (we don't give pack odds).
If the card still shows Traditional chemistry, league or nation slots, solve it as a classic SBC in Squad Builder. Not every live challenge is Streamlined.
Choosing eligible Items vs dumping random fodder
Good habits:
- Use untradeable duplicates and spare club cards that don't fit your chemistry anywhere else first.
- Before you buy a tradeable gold “just for score”, check Lowest Prices and ask whether those coins would be better spent on a Traditional Challenge filler or an Evolution you'll actually finish.
- Read the eligibility rules. A high-rated card that isn't allowed just wastes a trip to the transfer list.
- Keep a few league golds for Traditional and Marquee-style puzzles when they're live (see the SBC hub).
When Holographics, TOTW and specials help
Because bonuses stack, Holographics and special rarities fill the score faster. That doesn't mean every Holographic belongs in the first Foundations SBC you see. You might get more from it in Gallery, or by keeping a usable TOTW for Weekend League chemistry. Decide card by card with live prices; there's no “always SBC your specials” rule.
For TOTW Holographics this week, see the TOTW 3 hub.

What EA may change (and what that means)
Monitoring + advance notice before score changes
EA says it will monitor Item Scores and give plenty of advance notice before changing them. In practice:
- Don't treat a community spreadsheet as permanent.
- If EA posts a change notice, check how your SBCs are affected that day.
- Any screenshots on FUTWIZ should show the date they were taken, for the same reason.
Why old screenshots can mislead
Score values, target bars and which challenges are Streamlined all change. A Foundations screenshot from 19 Sep could mislead someone buying Standard on 25 Sep. Trust the live tool and the game over any picture in this article.
FAQ
Are Streamlined SBCs on the Companion App at launch?
EA hasn't promised Companion on launch day. EA says Streamlined SBCs are on console/PC at launch and on Companion later in Season 1. Do your Foundations and score submissions in the game until the app changes. Related limits: Web App what you can/can’t do.
Is Item Score different in Gallery vs SBCs?
No, it's the same system, according to EA (OVR + Rarity + Holographic). Gallery uses the score for Sets and grades; Streamlined SBCs use it towards a target score across submissions. For the Gallery side, see Gallery Tokens.
Do Holographic and TOTW bonuses stack?
Yes, according to EA. A Holographic TOTW gets both the rarity bonus and the Holographic bonus. Check the live Item Score on the card; we don't guess the exact difference.
Where is the official Item Score table?
There isn't a full public table in the Pitch Notes. Check the game. Treat third-party tables as unconfirmed until they match what your game shows.
Should I save Holographics for SBCs or Gallery?
It depends on the card and the live targets; there's no single rule. A Player SBC that needs a lot of score can be worth a special, while cheap Gallery Sets may be better done by buying, grading and selling (see the Gallery guide). Check Lowest Prices, look at both in-game, and choose whichever gets more from that card.
