FC 27 Web App: What You Can and Cannot Do (SBCs Missing at Launch)

Can you do SBCs on the FC 27 Web App? See what works at launch (trading, club setup, packs), what is still locked and how to plan your Foundations grind.

Published Updated By FUTWIZ

Correct as of 19 Sep 2026 (Europe/London)

TL;DR — quick answer

On the FC 27 Web App at launch you can trade on the transfer market, manage your club (name, badge, kits, squad), open packs you already have and plan your starter XI. You can't complete SBCs there yet, and that includes Foundations and Streamlined SBCs.

That comes from community / EA-adjacent reporting that both the Web App and Companion App went live without SBCs. EA’s own Launch Update Pitch Notes confirm Streamlined SBCs are available on console and PC at launch and are intended for the Companion App later in Season 1. EA hasn't published an exact date for SBCs on the Web or Companion apps.

If you were planning to grind Foundations in the browser before early access, you'll have to wait until you're in the game client (or until the apps get SBCs). Use the Web App for market shopping and squad planning instead, then head to Squad Builder and Lowest Prices on FUTWIZ.

What works on the FC 27 Web App today

Transfer market and club management

Once you're logged in (returning Ultimate Team clubs, with two-factor authentication on your EA account), the Web App is still useful for everything that doesn't need SBCs:

  • Transfer market — search, bid, buy now, list, and watchlist players while supply is high and demand is still mostly Web App–only.
  • Club management — set club name, badge, and kits; organise your club and consumables; adjust formations and positions.
  • Packs and inventory: open packs already in your club and review items you own.
  • Planning — browse content you can view, then build shortlists offline in tools (see FUTWIZ links below).

Menus can change as EA patches the apps. Market and club setup are the safe, confirmed day-one jobs. Treat anything SBC-related as locked until you're in the client or the app gets an update.

What stays locked (SBCs at launch)

You can't complete SBCs on the Web App at launch, according to community / EA-adjacent reporting. That includes the Foundations-style challenges many players have finished in the browser before early access in past years.

What is clear from EA:

  • Squad Foundations, Challenge/Upgrade SBCs, Evolutions, and related early content are listed as part of Early Access in the game (Ultimate / Ultimate+), not as Web App day features.
  • Streamlined SBCs (the new multi-submission format) are available on console and PC at launch and are intended to arrive on the Companion App later in Season 1 — with no exact date given.

Until the apps get SBCs, hold on to the fodder you'd have used in Foundations, and do those challenges in-game once you have access.

Companion App: same limits, different device

The Companion App refresh follows the Web App by one day, with the same limits at launch according to community reporting: market and club tools yes, SBCs no. Pick phone or browser for convenience. Neither unlocks Foundations earlier.

Confirmed launch timeline (Web App → early access → worldwide)

The dates below match EA’s Launch Update Pitch Notes (published 14 Sep 2026). Times are as EA gave them.

Web App and Companion dates

MilestoneDate / time (EA)
Web App16 Sep 2026, 17:00 UTC
Companion App17 Sep 2026, 17:00 UTC

For UK players, 17:00 UTC is 18:00 BST (Europe/London) on those days.

PC vs console early access

MilestoneDate / time (EA)
PC early access (Ultimate / Ultimate+)17 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC
Console early access (other platforms)18 Sep 2026, 00:00 regional time
EA Play Pro (full game, PC timing)17 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC
EA Play 10-hour trial18 Sep 2026, 04:00 UTC

This is when Foundations, Streamlined SBCs, Evolutions and match-based objectives open in the game client for eligible editions. It doesn't mean the apps get SBCs at the same time.

Worldwide / PC full launch

MilestoneDate / time (EA)
Worldwide launch — PC24 Sep 2026, 23:00 UTC
Worldwide launch — other platforms25 Sep 2026, 00:00 regional time

Season 1: Ones to Watch runs 17 Sep–22 Oct 2026. The Wins to Watch club-form upgrade window for OTW items starts from 18 Sep 2026 (three wins in the next six domestic league matches for a one-time +1 OVR, per EA).

What you should do on the Web App instead of SBCs

Market shopping while prices settle

With no SBCs in the apps, the most useful thing to do on the Web App is steady transfer-market work:

  1. Set saved searches for your starter XI positions and cheap league fodder.
  2. Prefer bids over panic Buy Now while liquidity is thin.
  3. Cross-check targets against live prices before you commit coins.

Use FUTWIZ Lowest Prices for day-one targets and the Players DB to shortlist affordable golds by league, nation and position. Don't treat any third-party price as a guaranteed “investment ROI”. Markets move fast at launch.

Club name, badge, kits, squad planning

Get the boring but important setup done early:

  • Lock in your club name, badge and kits (FC 27 usually gives a limited number of free renames, so check in-app).
  • Sort consumables and chemistry styles you already own.
  • Sketch two formations (for example a meta shape and a chemistry-friendly backup), so you're not making up an XI under early-access queue pressure.

Build shortlists in the FUTWIZ player DB and Squad Builder

Browser time is best spent planning, not staring at a greyed-out SBC tab:

  • Players DB — shortlist cheap golds and league links.
  • Squad Builder — assemble a starter XI and chemistry plan before console/PC unlock.
  • Evolutions — note first EVO project candidates while you wait.
  • FUTWIZ Players — track Season 1 OTW / Wins to Watch context once cards are live.

What to do: plan your starter squad in the FC 27 Squad Builder, then check Lowest Prices before you buy on the Web App.

When SBCs come to the Web and Companion apps

Console/PC early access is where Foundations / Streamlined SBCs live first

For Ultimate and Ultimate+ players, Early Access is the first place EA lists Squad Foundations, Challenge/Upgrade SBCs, Ones to Watch themed Player SBCs, and Streamlined SBCs as playable content — on console and PC.

Standard Edition players waiting for worldwide launch can't use those in-game SBCs during the early-access week. Community reporting points out the catch: no Web App SBCs and no early-access client means no Foundations grind until full launch.

Bookmark the FUTWIZ SBCs hub now, so solutions are one click away when you're in-game.

Season 1 window for possible Web/Companion SBC arrival (no date yet)

EA has said Streamlined SBCs are intended for the Companion App later in Season 1. Community coverage extends that expectation to both Web and Companion apps for SBCs in general, within the 17 Sep–22 Oct 2026 Season 1 window.

EA hasn't confirmed an exact date. If the apps do get SBCs, change your routine, and treat any guide that still says “do Foundations on the Web App on day one” as out of date unless EA or the live app says otherwise.

FAQ

Can I complete Foundations on the Web App?

No, not at launch, based on community / EA-adjacent reporting that the Web App and Companion App opened without SBCs. Do Foundations (and other SBCs) in the game client once you have early access or worldwide launch access. The apps may get SBCs later in Season 1, but there's no confirmed date.

Can Standard Edition players use SBCs before worldwide launch?

Not in the game client during Ultimate early access, and not on the Web/Companion apps while SBCs are missing there. Standard Edition players can still use the Web App for market and club setup from 16 Sep, then access in-game SBCs from worldwide launch (PC from 24 Sep 23:00 UTC; other platforms from 25 Sep regional midnight), unless EA changes app SBC availability sooner.

Does no-SBC Web App stop me starting OTW Savinho?

It blocks the matches, not the plan. Free OTW Savinho is tied to the Ones We Watched objectives / Single Player Live Event path (community guides; EA describes Ones We Watched as single-player Live Events). Those matches need the game, not the Web App. Use Web App time to get a squad and coins ready, then start the Savinho path once early access or full launch lets you play.
