Quick answer

Glow Guard is a free FC 27 Evolution for centre-backs rated 74 or lower with Pace of 80 or less and no more than 7 PlayStyles. It runs over four Training Camp levels and takes a card up to 80 OVR, with a weak foot boost to 3 stars. The FUTWIZ hub showed 3 weeks left to start it on 5 November.

PlayStylesMax 7
PaceMax 80

These come from the FUTWIZ Glow Guard page and the Evolutions hub, read at 09:15 GMT on 5 November. The eligible list on that page includes midfielders who have CB as an alternative position, so you aren't limited to natural centre-backs. Check that your card appears in the selection screen in game before you plan around it.

Levels and caps

Every figure below is a cap, not a guaranteed gain. A card already close to a cap gains less.

FUTWIZ shows Training Camp for all four levels and no match tasks. The hub lists the camp as one day, while the level text shows zero days. The timer in game is the one to go by. FUTWIZ also doesn't name the PlayStyles added at Levels 2 and 3, so the tile will show you which ones you get.

Time limits

On 5 November the hub showed 3 weeks to start Glow Guard and 4 weeks before it expires. Your Evolutions tab has the exact countdown. Start it before the start-by time, then finish all four levels before it expires.

Who to put in

The best picks are cheap cards with lots of room under the caps. Lower rated players gain the most, since everything tops out around 80.

From the FUTWIZ eligible list on 5 November:

  • Palis (74 CB) is the highest rated natural centre-back, with 77 DEF and 73 PHY already.
  • Boeder (67 CB) and Gogic (66 CB) gain more on paper. Gogic has 78 PHY but only 46 Pace.
  • Marina Artero (61 CB) is the pick of the women's centre-backs on the list and has the most headroom.
  • Kochorashvili (74 CM) and Schrijvers (73 CM) both have CB as an alternative and bring stronger passing.

Daniela Arques (69 CM) is another women's option with CB as an alternative. Tap any card on the FUTWIZ Glow Guard page to preview the finished version, then price it on FUTWIZ FC 27 Players.

Rules people trip on

  • A card that's part way through an Evolution can't go into SBCs.
  • There are two clocks: the start-by time and the expiry. Training Camp has to finish before the expiry.
  • Glow Guard caps Pace at the start, so very quick defenders won't qualify.

Bone Builder is the earlier centre-back Evo. No Soul Shall Pass is the free goalkeeper Evo from the same stretch. For the wider picture, see Season 2 Evolutions.
