A how-to for the free No Soul Shall Pass Evolution in EA Sports FC 27: who qualifies, what each level gives and which Level 2 path suits your keeper. The full eligible list and a per-card preview are on the FUTWIZ No Soul Shall Pass page.

Quick answer: a free goalkeeper upgrade of up to 81 OVR with a choice of two paths

No Soul Shall Pass is a free Evolution for goalkeepers rated 80 or lower with 7 PlayStyles or fewer. It runs over two levels and three matches, with no wins needed. Level 1 adds +3 OVR, capped at 81, so a 78 to 80 rated keeper reaches 81 and a 75 finishes at 78. At Level 2 you pick one of two paths: a mobile path with the Sweeper Keeper role and 1v1 Close Down, or a distribution path with Long Ball Pass and a weak foot boost up to 3 stars.

Community reporting puts the start-by time at Thursday 12 November and the finish-by time at Thursday 19 November, both 18:00 GMT. That fits the hub timers, but your Evolutions tab shows the exact countdown for your account, so go by that.

Who can go in

Any goalkeeper rated 80 OVR or lower with 7 PlayStyles or fewer. The page lists no Pace or rarity limits, so plenty of keepers qualify, including women's keepers such as Alyssa Naeher, Noelia Ramos, Adriana Nanclares and Esther Sullastres.

Cards in an Evolution that's still running can't go into SBCs, so pick a keeper you plan to keep.

Every level's upgrades

Goalkeeper face stats map to the outfield ones: Diving shows as Pace, Handling as Shooting, Kicking as Passing, Reflexes as Dribbling and Positioning as Physical. We've used the goalkeeper names below. The number in brackets is the cap, so a card already above it gets nothing from that boost.

Task: play 2 matches in the same modes as Level 1.

The FUTWIZ page doesn't name the Option 2 role yet. Community reporting says it's Ball Playing Keeper, and the Level 2 screen in game shows it before you choose. The PlayStyle caps mean a keeper who already has 3 PlayStyles may not get a new one. The preview will tell you.

Option 1 or Option 2?

Pick Option 1 if your keeper comes off the line a lot. The Sweeper Keeper role, 1v1 Close Down and the Acceleration and Sprint Speed boosts all help a keeper who rushes out to meet through balls. The pace boosts are capped at 45, so they only help keepers starting below that.

Pick Option 2 if you build from the back. Long Ball Pass and +2 Weak Foot, capped at 3 stars, help with distribution if your keeper has a 1 or 2 star weak foot and doesn't already have Long Ball Pass, and the Diving and Positioning boosts are the bigger shot-stopping gains of the two paths.

Treat your choice as final, so decide before you start Level 2.

Best keepers to use

These come from the eligible list on the FUTWIZ No Soul Shall Pass page, using each card's face stats there before the Evolution. Tap a card on that page to preview the finished version, then open the Evolution in game and make sure the card appears in the selection screen before you commit.

For Option 1 (mobility):

  • Di Gregorio (80): 81 Diving, 84 Reflexes and 56 Speed.
  • Stankovic (80): 82 Reflexes and 56 Speed.
  • Rulli (80): 85 Reflexes with 81 Diving.

For Option 2 (distribution):

  • Alyssa Naeher (80): 83 Kicking and 86 Positioning.
  • Urbig (79): 85 Kicking.
  • Heuer Fernandes (79): 84 Kicking.

Other women's keepers on the list: Noelia Ramos (80, 84 Reflexes), Adriana Nanclares (80, left-footed) and Esther Sullastres (80, 81 Positioning).

Prices change quickly, so look up each card on FUTWIZ Players or Lowest Price Ratings before you buy one for this. Test how your keeper links in the Squad Builder.

Stacking with other goalkeeper Evolutions

Poor Sophia was an earlier free goalkeeper Evolution, and our Poor Sophia guide has the details. There's also a GK Roles++ Evolution that adds Goalkeeper++ and Sweeper Keeper++. Read each one's requirements on its own page before you plan an order, because a keeper who goes over 80 OVR elsewhere can't start No Soul Shall Pass.

Evolution rules that catch people out

  • Two clocks: start it before the start-by time, then finish both levels before it expires.
  • Active Evo player: matches only count if you play them using your active Evo player.
  • No SBCs mid-Evo: EA says cards in an Evolution that's still running can't go into SBCs.
