FC 27 Destined for Glory Team 2: Friday 2 October Pack Swap, Reported Names and How the Upgrades Work
FC 27 Destined for Glory Team 2 lands Friday 2 October: the expected pack swap time, the reported names and how the live upgrades work.
Correct as of 2 Oct 2026, 09:47 BST (Europe/London)
This is the launch-eve guide for Destined for Glory Team 2. The upgrade rules come from EA. The swap time and the name list come from community reporting, so treat them as unconfirmed until the cards are in packs. For Team 1, see the Team 1 live hub. For this week's Live Events, see the Week 2 Ultimate Gauntlet hub.
Quick answer: Team 2 is expected on Friday
When does Destined for Glory Team 2 replace Team 1 in packs, and how do the upgrades work?
Team 2 is expected to replace Team 1 in packs on Friday 2 October 2026, at around 18:00 UK time according to secondary calendars. That's the same pattern Team 1 followed. EA hasn't published the time or the squad, so check the content timer in Ultimate Team.
Team 2 uses the same season-long upgrade system as Team 1 (EA):
- Attackers and midfielders upgrade on combined goals and assists.
- Defenders and CDMs upgrade on clean sheets.
- Only 2026/27 domestic league matches count, and a player who leaves their club stops upgrading.
| Detail | Source | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Team 2 in packs Fri 2 Oct, ~18:00 UK | Secondary calendars | Verify the timer |
| Team 2 names | Community leak list, 29 Sep | Unconfirmed until in packs |
| Upgrade ladders, Opta, leave-club rule | EA Destined for Glory page | Confirmed |
| Campaign end | No EA date; "around 9 Oct" is inferred | Verify in-game |
Team 1 leaves packs, but keeps upgrading
When Team 2 arrives, Team 1 is expected to drop out of packs. Team 1 cards you already own keep earning upgrades all season, because EA tracks the whole 2026/27 domestic season, not just the promo window.
Friday is busy
Two other things land around the same day. FC 26 carryover rewards start arriving (see the 2 October claim checklist). The first Champions Finals weekend is also on (see the Finals playbook). The early TOTW Upgrade SBC expires at 18:00 UK on Friday too, per FUTWIZ's SBC listing (some community calendars say later).
EA upgrade paths (Team 2 uses the same system)
Attackers and midfielders: combined goals and assists
For CM, CAM, LW, LM, RW, RM and ST cards, EA counts goals and assists together:
| Combined goals + assists | Upgrade |
|---|---|
| 3 | +1 Shooting and Passing |
| 6 | +1 PlayStyle |
| 10 | +1 OVR |
| 20 | +1 OVR |
EA's own example: a player with 3 goals and 3 assists has reached 6, so they get the +1 PlayStyle upgrade.
Defenders and CDMs: clean sheets
For RB, LB, CB and CDM cards:
| Clean sheets | Upgrade |
|---|---|
| 2 | +1 Defending and Physical |
| 4 | +1 PlayStyle |
| 6 | +1 OVR |
| 10 | +1 OVR |
A clean sheet counts if the team finishes the match without conceding and the player featured, either by starting or coming off the bench.
The small print
- Data: goals and assists come from Opta.
- Competition: only domestic league matches in the 2026/27 season count.
- Transfers: if a player leaves their club (including on loan), they're no longer eligible for upgrades.
- Start date: tracking began on 25 September. Team 2 players' league form from then counts too, so check each card's progress once it's live.
We'll track progress on FUTWIZ once Team 2 cards are in the database. The FUTWIZ Destined for Glory Tracker follows live upgrades across the campaign, and FUTWIZ Players lets you open each card and check its current stats.
Team 2 name watch (reported, unconfirmed)
Names in the community leak list
A community leak list published on 29 September names these players for Team 2. None of this is EA-confirmed. We're listing surnames only, as reported, with no OVRs, clubs or positions, because none of those are official yet.
| Reported name | Status |
|---|---|
| Haaland | Unconfirmed |
| Upamecano | Unconfirmed |
| Caicedo | Unconfirmed |
| Cucurella | Unconfirmed |
| Mbeumo | Unconfirmed |
| Gordon | Unconfirmed |
| Lookman | Unconfirmed |
| Nico Paz | Unconfirmed |
| Fernandes | Unconfirmed |
| McKennie | Unconfirmed |
| Gosens | Unconfirmed |
| Kiwior | Unconfirmed |
| Maza | Unconfirmed |
| Cresswell | Unconfirmed |
| Diani | Unconfirmed |
Some of these are surnames shared by more than one player, so match each one to a live card before you rely on it. Third-party sites also publish "expected ratings". We don't repeat them, because they're guesses until the cards exist.
How to confirm on Friday
- After the swap, check what's in packs and the Store in-game.
- Search each name on FUTWIZ Players. A live Destined for Glory card there is confirmation; a name that's missing isn't in Team 2.
- If the live card differs from the leak, trust the live card.
SBCs and objectives may add more
Extra Destined for Glory items can also arrive through SBCs or objectives, but nothing official confirms any for Team 2 yet. Check the live SBC and Objectives tabs on Friday, and FUTWIZ SBCs. We won't list rewards until they're live.
What to do before Friday
Coins and fodder
- Don't spend everything tonight. Friday brings a new squad, carryover rewards and the Finals weekend, all at once.
- Keep some high-rated fodder for any Team 2 SBCs, but don't buy speculatively for SBCs that haven't been announced.
- Use Training Camp and free Evolutions while they're live. See Evolutions for what's available.
Team 1 holders
We don't make price calls. What you can do:
- Check whether your Team 1 players are actually playing league minutes. EA's upgrades depend on domestic league output, so a benched player won't progress.
- If one of your Team 1 cards has moved club, it's no longer eligible for upgrades under EA's rules.
- Compare the live price on FUTWIZ Players before and after the swap if you're thinking of selling.
Plan the squad
If a reported Team 2 player would fit your team, sketch the chemistry now in Squad Builder, using their current base card, so you're ready to move if they're confirmed.
