FC 27 Companion App: Features, Login and How to Unlock the Transfer Market

The FC Companion App is EA's mobile version of the Web App for managing your FC 27 Ultimate Team club on iOS and Android. Here is what it does, how to log in, how to unlock the Transfer Market and what to do if it stops working. One date matters this week: log in to Ultimate Team on console or PC before 23:59 GMT on Saturday 7 November to keep using the apps.

EA Help states that after 7 November 2026, 23:59:50 UTC, you need to have logged in to Ultimate Team in FC 27 on your PC or console at least once to keep using both the Web App and the Companion App. The UK is on GMT, so in UK time that is 23:59:50 GMT on Saturday 7 November.

This mainly affects players who got early access to the apps as returning players and have not yet opened Ultimate Team in FC 27 itself. If you have already played Ultimate Team in FC 27 on console or PC, you have nothing to do. If you haven't, boot up the game and enter Ultimate Team once before the weekend.

What the FC 27 Companion App does

EA's app store listing describes these features:

• Transfer Market: buy and sell players with the rest of the Ultimate Team community, once your account has app access (see below).
• Squad Building Challenges: swap Player Items from your club for new players, packs or customisation items. Our live SBC list shows what is currently available.
• Evolutions: upgrade the stats of players in your club and apply cosmetic Evolutions. Browse the current ones on our Evolutions page.
• Rewards: claim rewards for Champions, Division Rivals, Squad Battles and Ultimate Team Events without logging in on your console or PC.
• Optional purchases: the listing says the app includes optional in-game purchases of virtual currency, and notes that FC Points purchase is not available in Belgium.

EA describes the Web and Companion Apps as a way to manage your Ultimate Team when you are not playing the game. Matches themselves are played in FC 27 on your console or PC.

EA Help calls the Companion App "the mobile version of the Web App". The main difference is the device you use.

How to get started with the Companion App

EA's store listing gives these steps:

1. Log in to FC 27 on your platform.
2. Go to Ultimate Team and create your club.
3. Create a Security Question and Answer.
4. Download the Companion App and log in with your EA Account.

You'll know it has worked when your Ultimate Team club and squad load in the app.

Requirements: FC 27 (sold separately), an FC 27 Ultimate Team club on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2, an EA Account (you must be 13 or older to have one) and an internet connection.

How to unlock the Transfer Market in the Companion App

Returning players. EA says you may get Transfer Market access on the apps automatically if your EA Account is in good standing and you earned access in FC 26 before 1 August 2026, FC 25 before 1 August 2025 or FC 24 before 1 August 2024.

Everyone else earns access through active days. EA defines an active day as playing three full Ultimate Team matches and logging in to the Web or Companion App within the same calendar day, using UTC, for each Ultimate Team account. While the UK is on GMT, a UTC day runs from midnight to midnight UK time.

• If your account is in good standing and no other Ultimate Team account has been created or used on your device, EA says you'll normally earn access after two active days.
• If other Ultimate Team accounts have been created or used on your device, it normally takes at least four active days, and longer the more accounts are involved.
• Playing more than three matches a day won't speed things up.
• EA sends a message to your Ultimate Team account in game when access unlocks, and you can also check the apps.

EA's support advisors can't grant access or tell you when it will unlock. If your account has been blocked from the Transfer Market for breaking EA's rules, the app shows a message saying so and EA emails the address linked to your account.

Common Companion App problems and fixes

You can't log in. Use the EA Account linked to your game. EA Help has steps to find which account you used and to reset your password.

The app says you're logged in on another device. The Web and Companion Apps can't be used while Ultimate Team is open on your console or PC. Back out of Ultimate Team to the main menu in FC 27, then try the app again. If it still won't let you in, give it a few minutes.

The Transfer Market is locked. See the active days rule above.

You lost access after 7 November. Log in to Ultimate Team in FC 27 on your PC or console once, then try the app again.

The app isn't loading at all. Check the Servers section of EA Help for any reported issues before reinstalling.
