Who can go in

The requirements are:

  • Position: ST
  • Overall: 80 or lower
  • Pace: 86 or lower
  • Dribbling: 82 or lower
  • PlayStyles: 7 or fewer
  • PlayStyles+: none

The FUTWIZ eligible list also includes cards that have ST as an alternative position, such as Muller at CAM. If you want to use one of those, open the Evolution in game and check the card shows up on the selection screen first.

Every level's upgrades

Each upgrade raises a stat to a cap. A card already near a cap gains less, and a stat already above it stays put. Figures are shown as boost and cap.

LevelStats raised (boost, cap)Task
1Overall +5 (81), Sprint Speed +4 (82), Finishing +8 (82), Volleys +6 (80), Reactions +7 (80), Composure +7 (80)Play 1 match

At Level 3 you choose one of two paths:

B: False 9False 9++, Incisive PassVision +8 (80), Short Passing +8 (80), Agility +6 (80), Dribbling +6 (81)

Tasks count in Squad Battles on Semi-Pro or above, or in Rush, Rivals, Champions and Live Events, with the Evo player in your active line-up. Any card rated 76 to 80 lands on the 81 cap.

Target Forward or False 9?

Pick the path that matches how your striker already plays.

Take Target Forward if your striker is tall and strong and you score from crosses, long balls and set pieces. The heading, jumping and strength boosts suit a player who stays high and wins the ball in the air.

Take False 9 if your striker is smaller and likes to drop deep and link play. The vision, passing and agility boosts suit a forward who comes short, turns and slips runners in.

Before you play the Level 3 matches, look at the preview in game. Strength and Agility changes can alter how a card feels to run with, so see the finished card before you choose. You can preview any eligible card on the FUTWIZ Two Faces of Fear page, then test it in the FUTWIZ Squad Builder and browse cards in the FUTWIZ FC 27 Players Database.

As for which card to put in, the best picks are strikers at 80 or below with Pace of 86 or less, Dribbling of 82 or less and no PlayStyles+, whose finishing and composure are weak. Those stats get the biggest Level 1 boosts.

Two Faces of Fear is another free Evolution from Halloween week, following Bone Builder and False Seven, and it landed alongside Ultimate Scream Team 2.

Evolution rules that catch people out

  • A card in an Evolution that is still in progress can't be used in Squad Building Challenges.
  • You must start the Evolution before the start-by time, then finish every level before it expires.
  • Treat the Level 3 path as your one choice, and preview it before you play.
  • The Evo player has to be in your starting line-up for matches to count.
