Correct as of 23 Oct 2026, 09:50 BST (Europe/London)

This Evolution has ended. The start-by window for Middle Management closed on Thursday 22 October 2026 at 18:00 BST, so you can't add new players to it. If you started it before then, finish the levels before the Evolution expires; check the tile in game for the time left. For Evolutions you can still start, see our Season 2 Evolutions guide and the Evolutions index.

A how-to for the free Middle Management Evolution: who could go in, what your midfielder comes out as, and how to pick one. It took a CDM or CM rated 74 or lower up to 80 OVR through four Training Camp levels, with no matches to play. The full upgrade table and eligible-player list are on the FUTWIZ Middle Management page; we don't print prices here.

Quick answer: a free upgrade to 80 for low-rated central midfielders (now closed to new players)

What was the FC 27 Middle Management Evolution, who could use it, and what does it give?

Middle Management was a free Evolution for CDM and CM cards rated 74 or lower. It has four levels, and each one is completed by sending your player to Training Camp, so there are no matches to play. It takes the card up to 80 OVR, lifts passing, shooting, defending and physical stats to set caps, raises Weak Foot to 3★, and adds a PlayStyle at Level 2. The whole Overall upgrade comes at Level 1.

It appeared in FUTWIZ's Daily Content for Sunday 18 October, from Saturday's 18:00 BST drop. FUTWIZ's hub showed about four days to start it and about two weeks before it expires, and its data put the start-by deadline at Thursday 22 October at 18:00 BST, which has now passed. If your player is already in it, check the Evolution tile for how long you have left to finish.

Who could go in

The requirements

FUTWIZ lists five requirements for Middle Management:

  • Overall: 74 or lower
  • Position: CDM or CM
  • Excluded positions: CAM, CB and ST
  • PlayStyles: 7 or fewer
  • Pace: 83 or lower

The in-game description, as shown on FUTWIZ: "Send your junior midfielder to this training to acquire skills necessary for managing the center of the pitch. From passing & shooting, to interceptions & strength, plus many more." It's aimed at squad-filler midfielders and newer clubs rather than your best players.

Main position or alternate?

FUTWIZ's eligible list includes main-position CMs and CDMs, but also cards listed as LB, RB, LM, RM or LW that have CM or CDM as an alternate position. That suggests an alternate CM or CDM counts. Check that the game offers your card on the Evolution screen before you plan around it.

What your midfielder becomes

Every level's caps

Each level is a single task: send your player to Training Camp. FUTWIZ's table, showing the cap each stat is raised to:

LevelUpgrades (cap)Task
Level 1Overall (80), Finishing (76), Vision (81), Long Passing (81), Standing Tackle (77), Aggression (75)Training Camp
Level 2PlayStyle (cap 3), Shot Power (77), Crossing (80), Curve (79), Slide Tackle (76), Weak Foot (3★)Training Camp
Level 3Acceleration (75), Long Shots (76), FK Acc. (80), Interceptions (77), Jumping (75)Training Camp
Level 4Sprint Speed (75), Volleys (75), Short Passing (81), Def. Awareness (76), Strength (76)Training Camp

The 80 OVR lands at Level 1, so your midfielder plays at its new rating after the first Training Camp.

How the caps work

FUTWIZ shows each boost alongside a cap. Our reading is that each stat is raised to its cap, and that a card already above a cap keeps its own value rather than dropping to it. We haven't confirmed that in game, so preview your card on the Evolution screen before you start. The caps are:

  • Passing and vision: Vision 81, Short Passing 81, Long Passing 81, Crossing 80, FK Acc. 80, Curve 79
  • Shooting: Shot Power 77, Finishing 76, Long Shots 76, Volleys 75
  • Defending: Interceptions 77, Standing Tackle 77, Def. Awareness 76, Slide Tackle 76
  • Physical and pace: Strength 76, Jumping 75, Aggression 75, Acceleration 75, Sprint Speed 75
  • Overall 80, Weak Foot 3★, PlayStyles cap 3

Most caps sit between 75 and 81. That makes a low-rated midfielder a useful squad player, not an elite one.

How long it takes

FUTWIZ's level listings and its hub card don't give the same Training Camp time, so we can't say exactly how long each level takes. Expect about a day of Training Camp, check the timer in game when you send your player, and leave yourself time before the Evolution expires.

The Level 2 PlayStyle

FUTWIZ shows a PlayStyle at Level 2 with a cap of 3, but doesn't name it. We haven't seen it named anywhere official, so check the Level 2 screen in game. If your card already has three or more PlayStyles, that screen also shows what it actually gains.

Weak Foot

The Weak Foot cap is 3★. A 1★ or 2★ card goes up to 3★. A card that's already 3★ or better gains nothing there.

How to pick a player (for reference)

What to look for

We don't rank cards with prices or meta scores. Here's a simple way to pick:

  1. Chemistry first. Pick a CDM or CM who fits your league or nation links and will actually play.
  2. Room under the caps. The lower a card's stats sit below the caps, the more it gains. A 74 with poor defending gains more on the defensive caps than one that's already solid.
  3. Weak foot. A 1★ or 2★ weak-foot card gets the most from the 3★ cap.
  4. Pace. The pace caps are 75, so a slow midfielder gains there while a quick one (up to the 83 limit) gains nothing.
  5. Existing PlayStyles. A card with lots of PlayStyles may get less from Level 2.

Example eligible midfielders (FUTWIZ, 18 October)

These cards were on FUTWIZ's Middle Management eligible list on 18 October. The first four are main-position central midfielders; the rest have CM or CDM as an alternate position:

PlayerPositionOVRPACSHOPASDRIDEFPHY

Kiko FemeniaRB (alt CDM)74675869697466
Pacha EspinoLB (alt CM)74776568696980

They're examples, not a ranking. Denis Suarez and McGlynn already pass well, so their gains come mainly from the defending and physical caps. Kahveci, with 58 DEF, has the most room under the defensive caps on this table. Acevedo starts at 73, so it gains a little more Overall than the 74s. For the alternate-position cards, check the game offers them before you plan around them. Use the league and nation filters on the FUTWIZ Middle Management page to find a midfielder who fits your squad.

Can you run more than one?

FUTWIZ doesn't say whether Middle Management is repeatable, so plan on one midfielder and check the Evolution screen in game.

Before you start, check the base card's existing PlayStyles on FUTWIZ Players and test it in your team with the Squad Builder.

Middle Management or Centre Stage?

Both are free and both are for CDM and CM cards (FUTWIZ):

  • Middle Management: cards rated up to 74, finishing at 80, with no matches.
  • Centre Stage: cards rated up to 81, finishing at 85, but you play matches to level it.

If your midfielder is 74 or lower, Middle Management is the quicker route. If it's already in the high 70s, Centre Stage is the one to look at.

Rules that catch people out

  • No SBCs mid-Evo. While a player is in an Evolution, EA Help says you can't use them in SBCs. Don't put a midfielder you might need for an SBC into Middle Management until you've finished it.
  • Two clocks. Every Evo has a deadline to start it and a later deadline to finish it (EA Help). For Middle Management, the start-by closed on 22 October, so only the finish deadline still matters.

Also new on Saturday

Other free Evos still open: Side Step (LB/RB), Centre Stage (CDM/CM), Speed Bump (CB) and Future Stars Academy IV (Academy cards).

FAQ

Was Middle Management free?

Yes. FUTWIZ lists the cost as free, in coins and FC Points.

Do I need to play matches?

No. All four levels are completed by sending your player to Training Camp (FUTWIZ).

What OVR does the card end on?

80. The Overall upgrade comes at Level 1 (FUTWIZ).

Who could use Middle Management?

CDM or CM cards rated 74 or lower, with Pace of 83 or lower and no more than 7 PlayStyles. CAM, CB and ST cards are excluded (FUTWIZ).

When did Middle Management close?

The start-by window closed on Thursday 22 October at 18:00 BST (FUTWIZ data), so no new players can go in. FUTWIZ's hub showed about two weeks before it expires, so players already in it can still finish. Check the Evolution tile for the time left.

How long does Training Camp take?

FUTWIZ doesn't give a single clear figure, so expect about a day of Training Camp and check the timer in game when you send your player.

Which PlayStyle does it add?

FUTWIZ shows one at Level 2 without naming it, so check that level in game.
