Premier League Team of The Season Predictions (FC 26)

Hello and welcome to my Premier League Team of the Season so far for 2025/26. We are far enough into the campaign now to see the shape of the season clearly, and it has been driven by a mix of elite scorers, reliable creators and a few standout defenders who have played a big part in keeping their teams in the race. The title battle has had its usual pressure, but the individual story of the league has been just as strong, with Haaland still leading the scoring charts, Bruno Fernandes setting the creative standard, and players like Rice, Gabriel, Semenyo and Igor Thiago keeping their clubs competitive in different ways.
At the top end of the pitch, the numbers are hard to ignore. Haaland has been the most obvious striker pick all season, and the latest data still has him clear at the top of the goals chart with 20 league goals, plus a useful assist return as well. He remains the type of player who changes the shape of a TOTS on his own, because you do not just select him for the finishing, but for the way he turns almost any chance into a goal.
The wide and attacking roles have also been unusually strong this season. Igor Thiago has been one of the league’s best pure scoring stories, Antoine Semenyo has gone from exciting wide player to genuine end-product threat, and João Pedro has kept building his case with a combination of goals and assists that makes him difficult to leave out. Harry Wilson has quietly had one of the best supporting seasons in the division as well, giving Fulham a reliable attacking outlet in key matches.
In midfield, Bruno Fernandes is the standout creative pick without much debate. He sits right at the top of the assist table and has carried United’s attacking rhythm for long stretches of the season, while Declan Rice gives the team balance, control and the kind of consistency that makes elite sides function. Dominik Szoboszlai has also done enough to merit a place because he has helped Liverpool both in progression and in final-third impact, while Granit Xhaka adds a strong all-round presence from a deeper role.
The defensive choices are a little more straightforward. Gabriel is the clearest centre-back lock because of his defensive influence and his threat from set pieces, and Marc Guéhi has been one of the safest, most reliable central defenders in the league. Reece James brings a different kind of value from right-back, with real attacking output and the ability to influence matches in the final third, while Nico O’Reilly is the breakout pick who gives the lineup a modern left-back profile rather than a purely defensive one. Ezri Konsa also fits comfortably into the wider squad because he has been one of the more stable defenders in the league.
In goal, Jordan Pickford is the strongest option from your pool. He has not always had the easiest job, but that is part of why he belongs here: he has delivered the shot-stopping and match-saving moments that keep Everton in games they could otherwise lose. For a season-long team, that kind of value matters just as much as clean-sheet totals.
