Hello and welcome to Serie A Player of The Month Predictions for March. It’s been a month where both title contenders and European hopefuls relied heavily on a few key performers, with defenders and versatile attackers having just as much impact as traditional forwards. The shortlist below offers a nice mix of creative midfielders, attacking full-backs and centre-backs who contributed at both ends.

I’ll start with Martin Baturina at Como, who continues to build a strong case as one of the best young midfielders in the league. An 89 rated POTM would be a big step up for him, but his influence on Como’s results justifies the hype. He scored 2 goals across 3 wins, including a crucial strike in a 2-1 victory over Cagliari and another in a dominant 5-0 win over Pisa. For an attacking midfielder, turning solid team performances into direct goals is exactly what makes this kind of special item appealing.

Strahinja Pavlović at AC Milan brings a very different profile to the table. An 87 rated POTM for a centre-back is always interesting for FUT squads, and his March output is strong on both sides of the ball. He scored 2 goals in 4 games – one in a 2-0 win over Cremonese and another in a 3-2 win against Torino – while also helping the team to 2 clean sheets. Those shutouts came in a 1-0 win over Inter and that same 2-0 victory against Cremonese, so his impact covers both scoreline and defensive stability.

Matteo Politano at Napoli had a very efficient month in a more advanced role. An 88 rated POTM would give him a highly usable, versatile winger card. He produced 3 goal contributions in 3 games: an assist in a 2-1 win over Torino and then a goal plus an assist in a 2-1 win against Lecce. That’s direct involvement in both of those narrow victories, which underlines how much Napoli relied on his end product in tight matches.

Adam Marušić at Lazio offers a nice hybrid of defensive reliability and attacking output. An 88 rated POTM for him would reward full-back users who want more than just pace. Across 3 games he recorded 2 clean sheets, 1 goal and 1 assist. The goal came in a 2-1 win over Sassuolo, while the assist arrived in a 1-0 win over Milan. Defensively, he played a key role in the 1-0 against Milan and the 2-0 win over Bologna, giving him one of the most well-rounded statistical months of this shortlist.

Kenan Yıldız at Juventus rounds out the candidates with classic attacking numbers from a flexible forward. An 89 rated POTM would push him into top-tier usability, especially for hybrid attacking roles. He finished the month with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games: a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Pisa, another assist in a 1-0 win against Udinese, and an important goal in a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo. That spread of contributions across multiple fixtures, rather than one big performance, makes his case look very solid.

From this group, my top three picks would be Baturina, Marušić and Yıldız. Baturina has the narrative and impact for an attacking midfielder, Marušić combines defensive value with match-winning actions, and Yıldız offers the most consistently decisive attacking stats. If I had to lean one way for a Serie A POTM card that changes squads the most, Marušić or Yıldız would probably edge it in terms of pure usability.
