Hello and welcome to Premier League Player of the Months Predictions for January. Been a decent month, a lot of top teams struggled and had mixed results, so POTM may be a bit different.

First, we’re starting with headliner of the month: Manchester United. They went unbeaten, changed manager, won 3 in a row and overall it’s looking for them. There are many candidates from them, so I’ll stop at 2: Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes. Both had very good months, Cunha scored 3 goals and got 1 assist, while Fernandes got whooping 5 assists in 4 games. Both should be nominated and we’ll see who wins. Cunha’s card might be crazy, as he recently got 87 IF and potential POTM can be very good and expensive, around 89 rating and 200k+ for SBC if decent PS occurs. About Bruno it’s easier: also has IFs, 88 lates, but not that popular in game for some reason, but potential 89\90 rated POTM might be really good. I miss the days when in UT Bruno POTM was at 1 mill and was released every 2 months. Was a crazy card, when Stats mattered more than PS.

Chelsea had a similar experience this month with manager change and win streak. So, choosing player from them wasn’t easy too. Enzo and Joao Pedro both had good performances and scored 3 goals and got 1 assist. Felt like Joao is a better candidate, but as Man United got 2 in my article, this can be the case here too. Joao just got MOTM card and his potential POTM might be going insane with 90 rating with 2 PS+. His MOTM is around 500k, so I think POTM will be similar to that. Enzo’s POTM might be just basic 87 rated card with not much highlights and would be quite cheap. So, yeah, hope it’s Pedro.

Brentford continues their impressive season and Igor Thiago broke record for most goals scored by Brazilian in a single PL season already in January. Another month with 5 goals for Igor, 3 goals in 4-0 win vs Everton and 2 goals in 3-0 win over Sunderland. Thiago had a decent POTM already, so this one might go 89 and still be quite cheap, as he’s not that popular\meta, so I expect his card be under 150k.

Forest trying to escape relegation battle and this month was solid for them. Gap between them and West Ham on 6 points and it looks like it’ll be enough. MGW had good spell with 3 goals and 1 assist, not the best season from him, but still manages to carry Forest sometimes. MGW’s base card is 82 rated, so I expect this POTM being 87 or so rated with some passing playstyle. Should be quite cheap and not really interesting.

Speaking about West Ham United – Crysencio Summerville entered his redemption arc and went crazy: 3 goals in 3 games in a row, brought West Ham to 2 wins (nearly 3 if they didn’t choke vs Chelsea) and had one of the better IFs this month. Potential 88 rated POTM might be very very good card, saying that as a user of his 86 card. Should be quite expensive, around 200k, maybe they’d give him 2nd PS too.

Last team that I’ll mention is Bournemouth, they were on a massive streak without wins, but changed a lot this month, with wins over Liverpool, Wolves and Tottenham and draw vs Chelsea. Few players scored 3 goals, so I went with one of them: Eli Jr. Kroupi looks like had a great month with goals against Arsenal, Wolves and Tottenham, surprisingly he hasn’t had IF this season, so this might change and get 87 POTM as a start.

Overall, I think it’ll be Manchester United Player. As much I wanted Summerville – I’d give award to either Bruno or Cunha. We’ll see who we’ll get.
