Hello and welcome to my La Liga Team of the Season so far for 2025/26. This has been a season shaped by elite attacking talent, but also by the kind of midfield and defensive balance that often decides how strong a team really looks on paper. The obvious stars are easy to spot, yet the most interesting part of this shortlist is how well it mixes headline names with players who have quietly had a major impact every week. La Liga once again feels deep enough to produce a very strong 18-player selection.

Kylian Mbappé has been the clearest attacking reference point in the league, and the numbers back that up. He is among the top scorers in La Liga this season, while Lamine Yamal has also been one of the most productive creative players in the division, leading the assist race in the available stats. Vinicius Jr. remains essential to Real Madrid’s attacking structure, and Ferran Torres gives Barcelona another forward option who has delivered valuable output.

The midfield choices are just as important. Federico Valverde brings control, intensity and all-round reliability, while Pedri remains the sort of player who can make a team feel more secure in possession and more dangerous in the final third. Luis Milla has been one of the more effective midfield creators in the league, and Marcos Llorente gives Atlético Madrid the high-energy, high-output profile that always matters in a season like this.

There are also several forwards here who have made their mark in different ways. Vedat Muriqi and Ante Budimir have been among the most efficient finishers in the league, while Alexander Sørloth adds another powerful striker profile. Mikel Oyarzabal remains a key player for Real Sociedad. Alberto Moleiro and Georges Mikautadze round out the attacking options and add a good level of variety to the list.

At the back, Joan Garcia has earned his place as the goalkeeper in the selection, while Pau Cubarsí and Marcos Alonso bring different kinds of defensive value. Cubarsí offers composure and quality on the ball, and Alonso adds experience and versatility. Together with the rest of the squad, they help the list feel balanced rather than overloaded in one direction.
