Hello and welcome to my Eredivisie Team of the Season so far for 2025/26. The Dutch top flight has been a goal-filled spectacle this campaign, with PSV Eindhoven cruising at the top thanks to their midfield dominance and ruthless attack, Feyenoord nipping at their heels through clinical finishing, and AZ Alkmaar holding firm in the podium race. Mid-table has been a grinder, where Utrecht, Twente, Heerenveen and Sparta Rotterdam have overachieved through standout individuals, while Ajax have flickered with moments of brilliance amid inconsistency. The season’s hallmark has been Japanese flair blending with Dutch creativity up top, PSV’s engine room control, and gritty full-backs keeping chaos at bay.

Attackers have feasted in the Eredivisie’s open style. Ayase Ueda has been Feyenoord’s talisman, leading the scoring charts with his poacher’s instinct and cool head in tight spots. Troy Parrott has carried AZ as their lone striker, delivering clutch goals to fuel the title challenge, while Mika Godts has been Ajax’s electric spark on the wing, terrorizing defenses with pace and end product. These forwards haven’t just scored—they’ve decided derbies and turned draws into wins.

Midfield is PSV’s kingdom, where Joey Veerman orchestrates with laser passes and deadly set pieces, Ismael Saibari brings goals and relentless energy, and Guus Til grinds out consistent contributions from deeper areas. This trio has turned Eindhoven into a machine, dictating tempo and overwhelming midfields in a way that’s defined their dominance. It’s the kind of control that elevates good teams to unstoppable ones.

Defensively, reliability has been key amid the firepower. Souffian El Karouani has been Utrecht’s dynamic outlet down the left with surging runs and crosses, Jacob Trenskow provides Heerenveen’s direct wide threat, Bart van Rooij holds Twente steady at right-back, and Joël Drommel has been Sparta’s savior with match-winning saves. In the center, Youri Baas brings Ajax’s composure and ball-playing quality, while Robin Pröpper anchors Twente with leadership and aerial strength. They’ve given their sides fighting chances when attacks stutter.

PSV claim the lion’s share for their supremacy, but the squad spans the league’s overachievers too. Here’s the streamlined 11-player lineup.
