Arkema Première Ligue Team of The Season Predictions (FC 26)

Hello and welcome to my Arkema Première Ligue Team of the Season so far for 2025/26. This season has been defined by one story above all others: Lyon’s absolute dominance. With 56 points from 20 matches, an unbeaten record of 18 wins and 2 draws, and a staggering goal difference of +63 (72 scored, just 9 conceded), Lyon have set a pace that leaves the rest of the league chasing. Their 11-point cushion at the top tells only part of the story; the real measure of their superiority is in the numbers. This context makes the Team of the Season selection both obvious in some areas and fascinating in others, as it blends the champions’ elite talent with standout performers from Paris, PSG, and beyond.
Romée Leuchter has emerged as the league’s most lethal finisher for PSG, combining intelligent movement with clinical efficiency, while Tabitha Chawinga’s explosive pace and end product have been central to Lyon’s attacking dominance. Melchie Dumornay’s creativity and late runs into the box have consistently unlocked defences, and Merveille Kanjinga offers directness and transitional threat from the right flank that keeps opposition back lines under constant pressure.
The midfield and defensive choices reflect the tactical balance required at the top. Sakina Karchaoui brings two-way reliability and progressive passing from central midfield for PSG, while Lily Yohannes provides the technical security and distribution control that keeps Lyon’s machine running smoothly. Korbin Shrader’s energy and box-to-box output have been vital, and Ingrid Engen — deployed in defence — adds composure, aerial dominance and quality on the ball at the back for Lyon.
There are also several attackers and wide players here who have made their mark in different ways. Aude Gbedjissi gives Lens a direct wide threat from the left, while Mathilde Bourdieu and Clara Mateo provide reliable box presence and finishing value for Marseille and Paris FC respectively. At the back, Wendie Renard and Griedge Mbock bring leadership and defensive stability, and Sofie Svava adds overlapping runs and defensive cover at left-back. Myléne Chavas has earned her place as the goalkeeper in the selection, while Théa Greboval provides versatility and recovery pace at right-back for Paris FC.
