EA is resetting Attribute Points for every Player Archetype in The Grounds, including Clubs. Here's when it happens, what you keep, what EA is giving you, and which attributes now cost more or less for each Archetype. We'll update this page after the reset lands on Thursday.

Quick answer: AP resets by 10:00 BST on Thursday 22 October; levels and total AP stay

When is the FC 27 Clubs Archetype reset, and what do I lose?

EA says Attribute Points (AP) for Archetypes reset in an update deployed by Thursday 22 October at 2:00am Pacific Time, which is 10:00 BST. You keep your level and your total AP for each Archetype, but you'll have to spend your AP again across your attributes. Anyone who has already created a Pro gets 5,000 Club Coins and one 1.75x AXP Multiplier for 6 matches. At the same time, EA is changing which attributes cost more or less for each Archetype, and removing Attacking Positioning as a requirement for Archetype Specializations.

EA says "by" 2:00am PT, so the update could land earlier than 10:00 BST. The UK is still on BST until Sunday 25 October.

Why EA is doing it

EA's Developer Notes say it found that some attributes were classified incorrectly, which affected their AP costs. It's correcting those costs and also making targeted changes to match each Archetype's identity. EA says doing it early in the season gives "a stable and balanced foundation for the year ahead".

This follows EA's earlier The Grounds Developer Notes, which said it was investigating incorrect AP costs for some upgrades. Removing the Attacking Positioning requirement is EA's way of balancing the cost changes: it frees up AP you'd otherwise have had to spend there.

Every Archetype's changes (EA)

EA lists which attributes go up or down in AP cost for each Archetype, but not by how much. We don't know the new costs yet, and we won't guess them. We'll add what the game shows after the reset.

EA's notes cover these 13 Archetypes. If yours isn't listed, EA's notes don't list changes for it. We haven't assumed it's unchanged, so check its costs in game after the update.

What it means for your build

Look up your Archetype's row before you re-spend. A few things stand out in EA's lists:

  • Finisher now pays more for pace and dribbling (Acceleration, Sprint Speed, Agility, Ball Control, Dribbling) and less for Finishing, Composure, Reactions and Volleys.
  • Target pays less for Jumping, Strength and Heading Accuracy, and more for Acceleration, Ball Control, Finishing, Short Passing and Curve.
  • Boss is the only Archetype with nothing getting cheaper.
  • Sweeper Keeper and Shot Stopper move in opposite directions on GK Positioning and GK Reflexes.

EA frames all this as making each Archetype's identity clearer. It doesn't call any of it a nerf or a buff, and we can't say which builds come out ahead until the real costs are visible in game.

Before and after the reset: a checklist

Before Thursday 22 October, 10:00 BST:

  1. Screenshot your current build for each Archetype you use, so you can rebuild it quickly.
  2. Check your Archetype's row in the table above and decide where you'd move AP if a stat now costs more.

After the update:

  1. Re-spend your AP. Your level and total AP stay the same; only where they're spent resets.
  2. Rethink Attacking Positioning. It no longer gates Archetype Specializations, so you can move those points elsewhere if you don't want them.
  3. Look for the compensation. EA hasn't said exactly how or when the 5,000 Club Coins and the 1.75x AXP Multiplier arrive, or how you switch the multiplier on, so check your rewards in game after the update.
  4. Use the multiplier on matches you'll actually play. It lasts 6 matches (EA).

We'll update this page on Thursday with what the game shows.
