The Premier League is well and truly underway now as we enter the third week of fixtures. Today, we’re going to telling you our predicted lineups and giving out some FPL Tips for gameweek three. This will be the final week before we reach the first international break of the season which will mean clubs will be looking to finish strongly.
How Correct were Last Week’s Predictions?
In our first week, we correctly predicted 183 out of the 220 players that started games. Let’s take a look as to how we got on last week:
Brighton- 10/11
Manchester United- 9/11
Crystal Palace- 9/11
West Ham- 9/11
Fulham- 11/11
Leicester- 11/11
Manchester City- 9/11
Ipswich- 8/11
Southampton- 11/11
Nottingham Forest- 8/11
Tottenham- 9/11
Everton- 9/11
Aston Villa- 11/11
Arsenal- 10/11
Bournemouth- 7/11
Newcastle- 10/11
Wolves- 10/11
Chelsea- 8/11
Liverpool- 11/11
Brentford- 10/11
190/220 players guessed correctly. This is three more than last week, however there is still lots of room for improvement.
Arsenal vs Brighton (K.O 12:30pm Saturday)
Arsenal’s predicted lineup:
Brighton’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Arsenal defenders always score highly due to the amount of clean sheet that they make, so bringing in Saliba or Gabriel at £6.0m is a must. Welbeck (£5.6m) is the third highest scoring player in FPL this year. Can he continue his form against Arsenal?
Brentford vs Southampton (K.O 3pm Saturday)
Brentford’s predicted lineup:
Southampton’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
With Ivan Toney still yet to feature for Brentford this season, Wissa (£6.0m) has be the clubs main threat up top. McCarthy (£4.5m) registered seven saves against Nottingham Forest which gained him two extra points. If he is influential against Brentford he could score highly again.
Everton vs Bournemouth (K.O 3pm Saturday)
Everton predicted lineup:
Bournemouth’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Surely Everton can’t go three games without scoring? Calvert-Lewin dropped to £5.9m which can free up some budget. Semenyo (£5.5m) continues to be a positive influence for Bournemouth with a form of 6.5 points.
Ipswich vs Fulham (K.O 3pm Saturday)
Ipswich’s predicted lineup:
(The reason why there is a gap in the squad is because we believe Axel Tuanzebe will play there, but as he doesn’t have an Ultimate Team item, we’ve left it blank)
Fulham’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Last season’s top scorer in the Championship Sammy Szmodics is sat at (£6.0m) and after scoring against Manchester City, he is a very enticing asset. Emile Smith Rowe (£5.5m) scored 10 points against Leicester. He is a good budget choice who can likely keep up his form.
Leicester vs Aston Villa (K.O 3pm Saturday)
Leicester’s predicted lineup:
Aston Villa’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Faes (£4.0m) is a starting centre back who is also the joint cheapest defender in the game. Aston Villa now have a good run of games which can meet Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) may start to pick up his form.
Nottingham Forest vs Wolves (K.O 3pm Saturday)
Nottingham Forest’s predicted lineup:
(Similarly to last week, the blank player is Murillo as he doesn’t have an Ultimate Team item)
Wolves’ predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Aina for Forest scored nine points against Southampton and he is priced at £4.4m which is very good value. Strand Larson (£5.5m) seems to be starting up front for Wolves every week, and scored in his last outing against Chelsea.
West Ham vs Manchester City (K.O 5:30pm Saturday)
West Ham’s predicted lineup:
Manchester City’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
I can’t see many defensive returns for West Ham in this game, so choosing an attacker such as Bowen (£7.5m) would be my recommendation. A goal and an assist for De Bruyne (£9.5m) against Ipswich means there’s potential he could continue this form in to his next fixture.
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (K.O 1:30pm Sunday)
Chelsea’s predicted lineup:
Crystal Palace’s predicted lineup:
(Once again we’ve left a blank spot here because Chadi Riad, who we predict will start against Chelsea, doesn’t have an Ultimate Team item)
FPL TIPS
Noni Madueke scored a hat-trick against Wolves which I don’t think many predicted. At (£6.4m), he would be a great pick for your midfield. Crystal Palace have struggled for form as of late, but someone who can always change a game is Eze (£7.0m.
Newcastle vs Tottenham (K.O 1:30pm Sunday)
Newcastle’s predicted lineup:
Tottenham’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Tino Livramento (£4.5m) looks to be starting at right-back over Kieran Trippier which makes him a great choice for such a cheap price. Two assists in two games for James Maddison (£7.5m) has him a very plausible FPL asset.
Manchester United vs Liverpool (K.O 4pm Sunday)
Manchester United’s predicted lineup:
Liverpool’s predicted lineup:
FPL TIPS
Mazraoui (£4.5m) has continued to impress at the start of his Manchester United career as he has kept his place in the team at right-back. Someone else who has also had a good start to the season in Luis Diaz (£7.5m) for Liverpool. He provided a goal and an assist against Brentford.
