How do you use this PlayStyle?
This PlayStyle is activated when using the Jockey (L2/LT) action or the Sprint Jockey (L2/LT+R2/RT) action.
When using Jockey (L2/LT) the transition speed from Jockey into Sprint will be noticeably quicker, and when using Sprint Jockey (L2/LT+R2/RT) the maximum speed your player can achieve will be faster than those without the PlayStyle.
What is the most effective way to use this PlayStyle?
This PlayStyle is most effective in a 1v1 situation and when it is on your full backs, the reason for this is that often fullbacks find themselves in either a face to face 1v1 or chasing attackers down and the increased Sprint Jockey speed is key as it allows you to maintain a good speed but also keep the defensive agility from the jockey.
The Jockey PlayStyle is mainly useful on fullbacks as they get the most benefit due to the 1v1 in game scenarios that a fullback often faces, needing that quick transition speed and fast jockey sprint.
What are the Pros and Cons of this PlayStyle?
Pros
- The main pro is that being able to jockey at high speeds allows defenders to not only keep up with attackers but also maintain their defensive agility, meaning they are still able to perform defensive actions and turns quickly at speed
- Having improved transition speed from jockey to sprint means that should your defender mistime a tackle they are able to transition into sprint much quicker allowing for a higher chance of recovery
Cons
- There isn’t really a con for the PlayStyle, the only notable thing is that Jockey is one of the less noticeable defending PlayStyles and the others are more desirable, however this is mainly for centre backs
