POSITIVES & NEGATIVES

Positives

  • An incredible box to box CM, very strong offensively and good defensively

  • Great interceptions due to his height and long legs

  • Very easy to link to ‘meta’ players, he has good nation and club links

  • Outside Foot Shot Trait

  • 5* Skill Moves & 4* Weak Foot

Negatives

  • Only has 78 Acceleration, this ideally would be a bit higher

  • 70 Defensive Awareness isn’t ideal if you plan to use him more defensively

  • He has 80 Balance and is 6’3”, which affects his agility on the ball at times

  • Considered to be quite an expensive SBC

PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? (Box to Box CMs - Excluding TOTYs)

Mid Icon Zidane – 1.63M

  • They are quite similar cards, but I would say Zidane is better in most areas

  • I would choose Zidane, as Zidane is pretty much better in most areas other than Defensive attributes and has 5* Weak Foot

Winter Wildcard Benzema – 1.31M

  • These two are incredibly similar, it’s hard to choose between either

  • I am unsure as to who I would choose between the two as they are bother very similar, Benzema edges it offensively, however Pogba edges it defensively

Winter Wildcard Kroos – 296K

  • Kroos is a great card, but Pogba is better in most areas

  • I would choose Pogba as he is better in pretty much most of the key areas for a box to box CM

TOTY Honourable Mentions Valverde – 883K

  • Valverde is the better defensive choice but Pogba is the better B2B CM choice

  • I would choose Pogba as he offers a bit more offensively for that box to box CM role

VERDICT

Pogba falls into the common debate within the community of Expensive vs Overpriced, and when you take time to look at the alternatives and their price and consider how he performs in game you will understand that Pogba is expensive, not overpriced.

He is an incredible box to box CM, I would not play him as a stay back lone CDM as he simply doesn't have the defensive abilities to play that solo, however paired with another more defensive CM he flourishes.

Yes he is expensive, but he is top tier card and with the upgrade packs and ways to generate fodder you can complete him at far cheaper than his price suggests, so it's a SPEND!
