Hello and welcome to Bundesliga POTM Predictions for January. Bundesliga returned after 2 months break and returned with a lot of goals. How can people not love Bundesliga, there are goals everywhere. So yeah, putting this POTM article together was hard and I’ll explain why in a bit. Let’s do this.

Main reason: performances. Some players performed in some games, but not many of players performed in all of 3 games this month. But still I tried to find some good performances. Let’s start.

Main option for me is Randal Kolo Muani. After he returned from World Cup – he became even better than before. He managed to register a goal or assist in every game this month: 1 assist in 3-0 win vs Schalke, 1 goal in 1-1 draw vs Freiburg and goal in 1-1 draw vs Bayern. Praised a lot by the media, fans, and feels like everyone – he’ll be next big Frankfurt sale. Strangely, he didn’t get a special card in FUT yet, but I think it may change with Future Stars Promo and this POTM. If he wins – he should be at least 86 rated card and pretty cheap one, as in FUT he’s not as good as IRL. I expect him to be really cheap, around 30k.

Next up I have a personal favorite and surprise of the month. Danilho Doekhi from Union Berlin. Yeh, Union back to winning games with 3 wins in a row and Doekhi scored 3 goals this month. Yeah, 3 goals from CB in 3 game days: he scored 2 goals in 3-1 win over Hoffenheim and kept a CS and scored a goal in 2-0 win over Hertha in Berlin derby. He already got an IF and this POTM would make him better, but still not as usable, as he’s pretty slow. Still, he should get at least 86 rated POTM and worth around 30k, so for some of you he’ll be a good fodder!

Then I have Dominik Szoboslai from RB Leipzig. Actually, it was a hard choice, as Szobo, Olmo and Silva in my mind have similar chance of getting nominated from Leipzig, so I won’t be surprised if we’ll see any of 3 players. Went with Szoboslai as he registered 2 goals in and 1 assist in several games and not all in 1 like Olmo. Szoboslai got an assist vs Bayern in 1-1 draw and got 2 goals in 2-1 win over Stuttgart, so yeah, he’s playing good under Rose. Andre Silva is a nice candidate and he has a chance too. He scored 2 goals in 6-1 win over Schalke and 1 assist in 2-1 win over Stuttgart. I still would give it to Szoboslai, as he’s more usable than other cards. Wish that he had few IFs already and we’d get better POTM for him, but at least 85 one would be alright. His NIF card has potential to be very good with some upgrades, so let’s hope he’ll get them. Even with upgrade to 86 – I expect it to be really cheap card and not worth more than 30k.

So, that’s probably it with clear nominees, but there were teams that performed well this month: Borussia Dortmund won 3 games out of 3. It’s hard to name 1 player from that team, but: Jude had a good game in 4-3 win, but my favorite is Julian Brandt who got 2 assists in 2 games. I feel like POTM nominee should be a player that got at least some spotlight in few games and not just 1. So yeah, Brandt would be my choice from BVB: 1 assist in 4-3 win vs Augsburg and 1 assist in 2-0 win vs Bayer. He’d be 86 rated card too… Feel like every POTM would be 86 this month. So yeah, also cheap fodder. 30k.

Speaking about Bayer: Adam Hlozek, my man from Czech Republic, the man who I watched since his early days in Sparta Prague – played well this month! 1 goal and 1 assist for him. Yeah he had quiet game vs BVB, but he scored in 2-0 win vs Bochum and managed to get 1 assist in 3-2 win over other Borussia, from Monchengladbach! So yeah, of course he shouldn’t win, but at least nominee and I’ll be happy! Would be very low rated and cheap card too.

And the last – Patrick Wimmer from Wolfsburg. They had a good month with 2 wins in 3 games and Patrick played important part in that. He got 1 goal and 1 assist in 6-0 win over Freiburg and got 1 assist in 5-0 win over Hertha Berlin. He didn’t do much vs Werder, but whole Wolfsburg didn’t play that well. Overall, apart from Patrick Wimmer – Jonas Wind is also a good nominee from Wolfsburg who managed to get 3 goals: 2 in 6-0 win over Freiburg and 1 goal in 5-0 win over Hertha. Both had solid games and one of them should be nominated. Both, if they win, would be 86 rated, per tradition.

So yeah, that’s it. My favorites are Doekhi and Randal Kolo Muani. One of them would be very deserved, so let’s see who will we get.
