What is considered sniping?

The ‘method’ if you can call it that is accessing a card that’s listed lower than the usual price by searching the transfer market and buying it within a few seconds of the listing. Being quick is the deciding factor here.

The usual question is - What do I snipe?

Fairly straightforward question but can be answered in multiple ways. From experience sniping low value cards is the key. Efficiency when sniping is really important. The last thing you want to do is be searching the market and rarely seeing any listings.

To start with, any cards required in SBCs should not only hold a good value but be constantly saturated by new listings. Check their current values. If the card is >1.000, it should be a good card to work with. Make sure to check each cards graph to see if they haven’t just randomly inflated and are actually holding that steady value. You can make a short list of 5-10 different cards to rotate on. If one doesn’t work as good as you’d want - not enough listings or too much competition, you already have others to move onto. Set your own profit margins and go at it. Rinse and repeat. Keep in mind, sniping can be very tedious and may take a while to perfect your card selection and your speed. This isn’t for everyone, all about preference.

This individual card sniping isn’t doing it for me, is there something else?

Here’s where filters come into play. With these you aren’t aiming to find just one card to snipe but rather a group of 2/3/4+ different cards with a specific criteria in common. A great example in recent years have been Gold/Argentina/LB or RB. Still tying in with some of the Advanced SBCs, any Argentinian fullbacks made some of them much easier to complete meaning multiple players held a similarly high value. There’s many more examples, create your own with different combinations of Leagues/Nations/Positions or even Clubs to find a gem of your own. With little to no competition you’ll see much more success.

SBC required cards are far from the only thing you may find yourself sniping throughout the year and definitely not the only thing you can profit on - whether it be you wanting to snipe for less and sell for profit or needing that card yourself for an SBC or squad.

Here’s a few points that are useful to know when sniping:

  • Some times of the day are better for sniping than others. Especially on workdays, anywhere between 5-10PM UK time are usually the peak listing times in FUT. It’s very simple why. People come home from work or school and open packs/sell cards. As we know a big part of the player base for FUT comes from Europe. In these saturated listing times you’re much more likely to come away with snipes. Even if there’s more competition as a result of that, the listing power should outweigh that.
  • To continue with some of the things in the first point, 6PM most days brings new SBCs which means new requirements for cards and can lead to new sniping opportunities.
  • Sniping also works well during Mass Supply events like Squad Battles and FUT Champions/Division Rivals. During a saturated supply time, all cards from low rated Gold cards to TOTWs or even Icons are heavily packed in a short period of time.
  • Don’t go out and snipe cards worth more than 1/10 of your total budget. If on a low budget, say 15.000, don’t snipe cards for 11.000 which would lead to you not having enough capital to continue. Stick with cards that you can buy multiple of. You’ll end up coming out with a lot more profit than you would if you were to snipe only 1 or 2 higher value cards.
