New Month – New POTM. Let’s discuss POTM for February in Bundesliga.

After very close month – I expect a pretty easy month to predict. There’s one player who smashed this month, but let’s cover more than 1 player, as we usually do, right?

Let’s move to the players straight away:

Few teams went unbeaten this month, mostly Wolfsburg surprised people with their very impressive run of consecutive wins without conceding a goal. So at first – my nominee is Maxence Lacroix. For me – he’s surprise of the year, he’s performing at amazing level in Bundesliga and making Wolfsburg defense work really well. Lacroix and Wolfsburg didn’t concede a goal in 4 games this month and I think it’ll be a deserved nominee. Sadly his FUT card is only 66 rated, so his POTM would be only 81 rated, so it’d cost around 15k. Nevertheless – he deserved Future Stars card and I’m still convinced that he was unfairly robbed.

Hoffenheim had another 50\50 month with 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss, but Bebou performed really well for them, as he scored 3 goals in those games and got 1 assist. I understand that it’s a bit meh nominee, but there were not a lot of choices this month and I think Bebou performed well enough to earn POTM nominee. His FUT card would be similar to his RTTF card and would cost around 30-40k in my eyes. He scored and assisted vs Werder, scored vs both Frankfurt and BVB too, despite Hoffie not winning those games.

Next player is Erling Haland. BVB had a strange month overall: wins versus Schalke in Rieverderby, win vs Arminia, but draw vs Hoffie and surprising loss vs Freiburg came unexpected for them. Haland still managed to perform in every game, he managed to score 2 vs Schalke with 1 amazing goal, assisted vs Bielefeld, goal vs Hoffie and assist vs Freiburg. Actually few players from BVB deserved nominee, like Sancho too, but he just had What If card, so I went with Haland. Haland POTM would be 91 rated, a bit better than his Headliner and previous POTM, so he’d cost around 400-450k in my eyes. His previous POTM costed around 370k, so this one should be a bit more expensive.

Next up on our list: Christopher Nkunku. Leipzig had a great month, probably 2nd best after Wolfsburg – they won vs Schalke, Augsburg, Hertha and finally vs Monchengladbach. Nkunku managed to get 2 crucial goals and 2 assists in those 4 games, and if they count last game of previous month – he scored a winner against B04 too. So he scored a winner vs M’gladbach, vs Augsburg and overall was really impressive for Leipzig. Very good player, his POTM would be 86 rated and would cost around 60-70k in my opinion. Some well balanced stats and overall a nice card to use in some hybrids. Still I think it’s pretty unlikely that he’ll win, but still!

Another candidate: Sasa Kalajdzic. Stuttgart had a nice month by their standards – 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, but Sasa Kalajdzic performed at amazing level in all 4 games. He scored 2 in 5-2 loss vs B04, goal vs Hertha in 1-1 draw, winning goal vs Koln and 1 goal in 5-1 demolition of Schalke 04 (poor Schalke). So yeah, if not Kalajdzic – then Endo will get nominee from Stuttgart, who had a good month too. In terms of FUT – he’d be 82 rated striker with some average stats and that’s the reason, in my eyes, why he won’t win the voting. Cost would be around 15k. Not more than that, IMO. Average card in March. Not only in March, even in October too.

I could include Lewa in this article, because he managed to score 4 goals in 4 games, but what’s the point? He scores in every game and it seems like he’ll break an all time record, so…

Let’s move to main candidate.

Filip Kostic had an insane month. I mean it’s actually incredible how good he was in February. Frankfurt overall had a good run: wins versus Hoffenheim, Koln and Bayern, only loss came vs Werder, but Kostic managed to perform in every game of the month. 1 goal and 2 assists vs Hoffie, 1 assist vs Koln, Bayern and Werder. Very impressed by Filip and I think he’ll win this award pretty easily, as it seems like Bundesliga giving out POTMs fairly. So yeah.

In terms of FUT: he’d be nice 87 rated winger, but here’s the problem. He’s only 2* WF and 3* Skills, so he’s not really usable as attacker, but should be a very good fullback, something similar to Future Stars Cucurella in terms of stats, he could be used as CM too.

Chances of POTM: 75%

Tips for investing:

I doubt that he’ll be very expensive. So I doubt any fodder will rise for him. Eintracht players aren’t that popular in FUT too, so I don’t think anyone will actually rise high enough for him. Hinteregger – he can’t be linked to Kostic, unless you start with 3-5-2, so yeah…

Worth investing? I wouldn’t invest in anything that associates with Kostic. Just because of not really popular club, nation and some average stats for a winger.

Estimated cost: 35-70k. His IF costs 50k just because he was a good fodder for SBCs. His SBC card should cost at max 70k – because for many people he’d be fodder. So I expect something similar to Andre Silva POTM.
