The next league up for our TOTSF predictions powered by Score More With Xbox is La Liga!

This season in La Liga has certainly been a weird one with every seem seemingly struggling and not playing to their full potential...yet we still see Real Madrid and Barcelona running away making it a runaway two horse race.

A lot was expected from Atletico Madrid this season especially after a bit of a rebuild last summer, however they haven't really delivered - not scoring that many goals and their tactics haven't worked against some teams, leaving them in 6th place.

Surprise of the season is probably Getafe or Real Sociedad, two completely different teams with different styles but both have produced solid results. Getafe are set up a bit more defensively whilst Sociedad rely on their young and promising strike force to get them results.

Overall the season is a long way from the finish line, the race for 1st place between the top two and the race for 3rd and 4th places between 6 teams is still ongoing and waiting to resume.

Also this year FUT-wise La Liga teams are actually very good across the board! Everyone is using a very similar defence, with Ter Stegen as the goalkeeper but there's a possibility that TOTSSF might shake things up.

Let’s begin!

Goalkeepers.

There have been a lot of good goalkeepers this season in La Liga, All 3 of the top world class goalkeepers: Oblak, Ter Stegen and Courtois have had solid seasons. Courtois in particular has made a great return from last year’s struggle and and has had some real stand-out performances this season, picking up a POTM and saving Real Madrid in several situations this year.

The 2nd goalkeeper spot is tough. I ended up going with Oblak..... because he’s Oblak. He’s having another great season and with after the departure of Godin and injury to Gimenez he’s sometimes carrying Atletico’s defense and overall he has been their main star of the season.

I went with a bit of a different one for the 3rd goalkeeper choice, because he's making a massive effort to help Levante stay up in La Liga - Aitor. A series of clutch performances and overall on average he actually has the highest rating out of all GKs.

There’re a lot more candidates, like Ruben Blanco from Celta, who’s been good but it’s hard to fit every goalkeeper in one squad. That’s why we’re moving onto Defenders.

Defenders.

Probably the hardest positions to choose, only 5 players... just because I couldn’t find more choices.

Starting with the Right-Backs: Carvajal from Real Madrid and Suarez from Getafe. Carvajal is having an awesome season, and overall Real Madrid’s defense has been good, Carvajal has been one of highlights of Real’s defense so far.

His partner in crime from Real Madrid – Raphael Varane is my next pick, he's been having an amazing season especially after what many consider a mediocre last season. Varane has been the most important defender for Real Madrid in my opinion, when he hasn't played Real have conceded a lot more goals and he’s been the key to Real’s defense.

I mentioned Damian Suarez from Getafe - I need to place few Getafe players into the prediction because they’re having an amazing season. Suarez is my highlight from their solid defense and he had a few assists to his name.

Inigo Martinez has been statistically one of the better defenders in the league despite Atletic Blibao's rough 2nd part of the season, given his stats I think it’s fair to include him into a TOTSSF but there is a possibility that Pique could replace him in the final squad.

Sergio Reguilon. Loanee from Real Madrid in Sevilla. He’s having a fantastic year and probably the best left-back in La Liga this year. He’s improving fast, especially after his breakthrough season last yea, he's had a few assists to his name and scored a goal.

That’s all for defenders, as I really couldn’t find more noticeable candidates. Maybe I missed on some obvious picks, but let me know if that’s the case.

Midfielders.

One of the most stacked positions in this TOTSSF, probably the most stacked.

Casemiro and Kroos are my 2 picks from Real Madrid. It’s kinda weird including so many players from the team that isn’t running away with the title but I feel like if Real had a proper strike force then the title would be decided earlier. Casemiro is the best player from Real Madrid and he’s been a pivotal part of their good season.

Kroos is having a good season, but there is a chance he could be overlooked in favour of Fede Valverde. Valverde really has to be one of the surprises of the season and is probably the next big thing for Real Madrid. Having said that Kroos is fantastic player and he has really stepped up this year, it'll be interesting to see who it’ll be in final team but I’d like Kroos to be recognized.

Saul and Partey are my 2 picks from Atletico Madrid’s midfield. Both players are very important to Atletico, even though the team isn’t performing at the very best level this season. They've been a really strong duo at the heart of Atletico's midfield and both should be included in TOTSSF, Partey might be one of the best CDMs in FUT this year and his TOTS will be sensational.

Santi Cazorla is having another great season in Villarreal, maybe not as good as last year but he's still one of the most important players in Villarreal squad. He's a massively popular player - who doesn't love Santi Cazorla?! His stats back him up to get in TOTSSF.

Dani Parejo is my only pick from Valencia, the captain of Valencia having yet another good season. Valencia having a very inconsistent season so far, a lot of ups and much more downs but they're still in the mix for 3rd place andd have every chance to take it, but they’ll need to improve. Parejo is always performing well and he’s had a quite a lot of goals and assists.

Last, but not least – Martin Odegaard. One of the best players in La Liga this year, a real highlight of the season, if it wasn’t for Messi – Odegaard might be MVP of the league!. Yet another player that belongs to Real Madrid in this TOTSSF and this is getting strange to me, but yeah, Odegaard fully deserves to be in TOTSSF and he’ll get one.

Wingers.

Not a lot of choices, but imo three obvious choices and 1 wild-card choice that can be included in the final team.

3 obvious choices: Oyarzabal from Real Sociedad, Gerard Moreno from Villarreal and Lucas Ocampos from Sevilla.

All 3 players played well for the whole season so far, Oyarzabal is the player that will probably to a bigger club in the next transfer window (when it opens) but this year he had a very good season in a very young Real Sociedad side.

Gerard Moreno is the 2nd most important player for Villarreal, after the previously mentioned Santi Cazorla. He played ST few games, but he was mostly deployed as a right winger, picking up 11 goals to his name he should be in TOTSSF.

Lucas Ocampos is having a renaissance season in Sevilla, 10 goals and 2 assists to his name and that’s quite a lot for a winger, epsecially considering that most goals in La Liga were scored by Messi (19) and Benzema (14).

Wild-card choice would be Fabian Orellana from Eibar, the 34-year old Veteran has been having a good season for Eibar and some-what carrying them, collecting 7 goals and 8 assists - there is an outside chance of a TOTSSF moments card and that maybe it for him.

Strikers:

Karim Benzema is the main choice for the striker – 14 goals and 6 assists basically guarantee his place in the La Liga TOTSSF, his 2nd year in a row. If only he’d be a little bit more clinical he’d be already on 20+ goals but it is what it is.... the last player from Real Madrid, I promise.

Luis Suarez would be included in this TOTSSF too if it wasn’t for his injury that took him out from the game for some time, he still scored 11 goals and it maybe enough for some sort of TOTSSF card but I decided not to include him in the end.

The other choices are: Angel from Getafe, Lucas Perez from Alaves and Chimy Avila from Osasuna.

Angel is the 2nd choice from Getafe – Getafe aren't really scoring a lot of goals but Angel would be the highlight in their attacking department with 10 goals to his name.

Lucas Perez has been having a good season for Alaves after few rough years in England. He scored 38% of all Alaves goals which is the highest contribution from striker in the league. Another player with 11 goals.

Chimy Avila is the carry of Osasuna, although 9 goals and 2 assists might not be the best numbers he's scored some of the most important goals this season and probably kept Osasuna safe already.

Leo Messi.... surprise! Of course he’ll get into TOTSSF, Barca's hard carry. What is interesting to me – he’s the only player from Barca that I included in TOTSSF but if we make the team more fair: Pique, MATS, Suarez and Busquets are possibilities to make the final team.

One of the strangest TOTSSF that I predicted. Every player, apart from few, played on pretty much the same level and there weren’t many highlights over the course of the season.

Hopefully we’ll see something close to this but deep inside me I hope we’ll get a better TOTSSF and hopefully that's what we'll see!.
