This week we're looking at the potential Team of the Season for the Bundesliga, powered by Score More with Xbox!

The Bundesliga this year has been very exciting with a lot of players performing well and a lot of surprising ups and downs, and of course a wealth of exciting games as per usual in Bundesliga.

Main highlights: RB Leipzig, the 2 Borussia’s and Schalke. Of course, Bayern as always on the top but they have a lot of competition this year. The season isn’t finished...yet (due to COVID-19 of course) but currently Bayern are sitting on top, Dortmund 2nd, Leipzig 3rd, Monchengladbach 4th, Bayer 5th.

Overall, Bundesliga this year is one of the most exciting leagues in the world. In FUT – it’s the same, we’re getting loads of content in it and a lot of people use Bundesliga teams, so this team should be insane for FUT too because a lot of meta cards will be included.

Last year TOTS got upgraded from their latest special cards, so boosts should be good and cards should be amazing.

Let’s see what we’ll get.

Goalkeepers:

There are a lot of good goalkeepers this season and I was choosing between 4 main choices.

My main choice: Yann Sommer. Another good year for Sommer, last year he was kinda like a meme in FUT, because everyone was getting him in packs\rewards. This year he should get another TOTS and it’d be deserved. He’s 3rd highest player on Kicker (averagely) and 2nd for Goalkeepers. He always performs well and helps Borussia M’gladbach to perform well.

Next choice is: Lukasz Hradecky. He’s the same as Sommer, but he’s just higher than him on Kicker. Overall he’s having really strong season, making much less mistakes than in previous years. Very good goalkeeper, but can be replaced by other choices: Manuel Neuer and Peter Gulasci are also strong choices, but they are playing in teams with better defense. Overall, if it’ll be fan voted – Neuer should get 2nd spot. And he deserves it, because he’s been insane this year, probably back to his best. Already got 2 special cards and TOTS would be fair for him.

Defenders
:

Fullbacks: Alphonso Davies and Ashraf Hakimi. My main 2 choices for full-back positions. Both having really good seasons. Davies moved from winger to full-back, insane stats, one of the best young players in the world right now. Statistically he’s great not only offensively, but also defensively.

Hakimi played this season mostly at RWB position and he was really good attacking wise. He’s got 10 assists in the league and that’s impressive. Also there are less choices about full-back positions this season.

Actually only can find one alternative to them: Ramy Bensebaini. He’s having strong season in Monchengladbach and has a chance to be included in TOTS, but imo not over those 2 players.

Centre-backs:

This one is really tough. A lot of choices. Maybe even too many.

First choice is Dayot Upamecano. Statistically he’s amazing. Performance wise too. Every top club in Europe wants to sign him. He’s having a very very strong season, so he should be getting TOTS.

Mats Hummels is my 2nd choice. Even tho he had a few rough games, overall he improved BVB defense and was solid most time of the season. Highly rated by Kicker too.

3rd option is Ozan Kabak. Transferred to Schalke in the summer – he played a vital role in their rise this season. Also he scored quite a few goals (for center-back) and very highly rated by Kicker.

4th option is Marcel Halstenberg. He moved from LB position to CB in 3 at the back system and he shined there too. He’s one of the vital players for Leipzig. He can miss on TOTS, but IMO it wouldn’t be fair.

And the last choice is Matthias Ginter from Monchengladbach. Another player from Borussia, there will be quite few in my predictions. Ginter is solid player and having good season. He’s rated highly by Low, he often calls him up for national team and in the league he plays well too. Can see him missing out on TOTS.

Midfielders:

Moving on to midfielders and we have the trio from Bayern, Kimmich, Thiago and Muller, all 3 players have been playing very well this season. Thiago is often underrated by people but he’s one of the most complete players in Bundesliga and can do everything. He works really well with Kimmich, who moved from RB to play full time in midfield, although he's had a few sub-par games by his high standards he's been incredible overall.

Thomas Muller is back to his best! Before the break he was on a verge of breaking the assists record and he still has a chance to do that. It really does feel like the Coutinho transfer reignited Muller and he started playing even better than before.

Christopher Nkunku is a summer transfer from PSG to Leipzig and what a success story it is, an amazing young player. He plays so well in Leipzig, played in multiple positions, even as 2nd striker few times. He should be getting TOTS because he’s been immense this season.

Kai Havertz had a rough start to a season but as winter approached he started playing well again and in 2020 he became even better than before. He should also be getting TOTS and many people loved using him last year. This year he has 4* WF instead of 5, but still he should be a very good card.

Denis Zakaria is my choice from Monchengladbach midfield, someone who is rated highly by many outlets and a lot of clubs see him as a potential signing to improve in the middle of the park. He improved his game this season and overall he’s one of the better midfielders in the league in my opinion.

Suat Serdar is another young and promising player from Schalke. He’s having a very good season and feels like he’s not talked about enough. He should be getting TOTS, but there is a possibiliy that he could miss out due to the competition for places. Having said that, his Kicker rating is really high so it would be unfair to see him miss out.

I didn’t include Marco Reus in these predictions, because feel like he hasn’t been at his best this season. Yes, he scored quite a few goals but few of them were penalties and also he got injured too. However if TOTS will be fan voted due to his incredible popularity of course he’ll get in.

Wingers:

There’re quite few obvious choices - Of course Gnabry and Sancho are getting TOTS. No matter what. They have been two of the best wingers in the world this season and they play in Bundesliga, both having sensational seasons.

3rd choice is Fillip Kostic. Only 1 player from Eintracht this season, they've not had the best of seasons but Kostic has still performed well - much like last season. Should be getting TOTS no matter what.

Strikers:

2 main choices: Lewandowksi and Werner. Should I even describe why? Don’t think so.

Another choice is Alassane Plea from Monchengladbach. It’s between him and Marcus Thuram, but I think Plea nails it for me, his contribution was a bit more impactful in my eyes.

Last choice is Florian Niderlechener from Augsburg. One of the most surprising players in this TOTS, Augsburg is a really cool team and Florian has scored a lot of goals for them this season. Him and Max are the most impactful players in Augsburg.

Yes, I didn’t include Haland, purely because he hasnt played enough games for me to include him in Predictions, it's not fair to other players. Yes, if it’ll be fan-voted - he’ll probably get it, but I don’t think it should be the case.

Overall, this season of Bundesliga is really interesting. If you didn’t watch it closely – you’re missing out. You’ll have a chance after the pause, so don’t miss the title race between 4 teams.

And TOTS in Bundesliga should be really sensational. Some insane cards here and there and everyone can find something interesting for themselves.
