• An absolutely incredible defender, always seemed to win his 1v1 duels

• Very good aerial ability, he has high jumping and heading attributes

• Hero Chemistry – Always gets 3 chemistry points, and gives +2 notches to Premier League

• He can be changed to a Lengthy AcceleRATE if you apply an Architect chemistry style

• L/H Work Rates which is perfect for a CB

Negatives

• 66 Dribbling is quite low, although you don’t tend to dribble much with him

• 79 Strength isn’t low, but it’s not high. He is strong, but not one of the stronger defenders

Gold Rare Virgil Van Dijk – 170k

Van Dijk might just perform a bit better, however it is very close between the two cards so for me it is quite a difficult choice who I would pick

Path to Glory (PTG) Koulibaly – 400k

The only real thing Koulibaly has better than Carvalho is Strength, however overall Carvalho is definitely a better choice

World Cup Hero Mascherano – 175k

Mascherano has better Strength than Carvalho, however overall Carvalho is definitely a better choice at CB

World Cup Star Fabinho – 15 World Cup Swap Tokens

Fabinho isn’t as good as Carvalho if you decide to play him as CB, however Fabinho does have a bit better strength

RATINGS

Verdict

After using Carvalho for a lot of games I can comfortably say this man is an absolute machine defensively, he was so reliable for me and more often than not he would come out with the ball in a 1v1 situation.

Another bonus is he offers Hero chemistry and plays in a major league so is a huge bonus for squad building.

For me, he is priced very well when you compare him to others so this one is an easy SPEND!

Positives

• Scores a lot of goals, was very clinical inside the box and scored a lot of trivela shots

• He has a Lean Body type so this hugely helps with his dribbling, it feels very responsive

• Hero Chemistry – Always gets 3 chemistry points, and gives +2 notches to Premier League

• Outside Foot Shot trait for those nice trivela shots

• 4* Skill Moves & 4* Weak Foot

Negatives

• He doesn’t have the greatest strength or defensive attributes

PLAYER COMPARISONS – IS HE BETTER THAN? (PREMIER LEAGUE 4*4* ATTACKERS)

RTTK Aubamayeng – 466k

Aubameyang would be the better choice as a ST, but Ljungberg would be a better CAM/RAM

World Cup Hero Kewell – 400k

These cards are very similar, however Kewell is better is pretty much most attributes

Rulebreakers Havertz – 173k

Havertz might be better ST due to his added physicals, however I would definitely choose Ljungberg over Havertz

Hero Cole – 118k

Cole is a cheap version of Ljungberg, but overall Ljungberg is just a better card in all areas

VERDICT

Ljungberg has probably been my biggest surprise of the year, I was very underwhelmed when I packed him, however he has been nothing short of exceptional since using him and slowly turning into one of my favourite players to use. He seems to contribute in either goals or assists most games for me.

Another big benefit of the card is his Hero chemistry and being from the Premier League he is great for squad building.

I am not sure why but Ljungberg is only 75k and he performs exceptionally, so it’s an easy SPEND!
