FC Pro Open Custom Tactics (Match Week 7)

Match Week 7 of the FC Pro Open has concluded, wrapping up Group C’s matches and confirming three more players advancing to the knockout stages.

The week began with all players realistically in contention to qualify. Tekkz, sitting in 6th place, faced the biggest challenge, but with a strong start, there was still a chance for him to make it through.

Before diving into the tactics, let’s recap the Match Week 7 results and standings.

Tekkz started strong with a win over the previously undefeated Obrun but couldn’t maintain the form needed to secure qualification. Meanwhile, Emre put together an impressive run of four consecutive wins, cementing his place in the knockout stages.

Yual also had an outstanding week, racking up 10 points and delivering the upgrades for SBC Boey that the community had been eagerly anticipating.

Here’s how Group C wrapped up: Obrun, Emre Yilmaz, and Yuval secured the three qualification spots, these were also the top 3 at the end of the last round of games.

Now, the bit you have all been waiting for, let’s get into the Tactics.

Obrun: 4-2-1-3

As the weeks go by we have seen the 4-2-1-3 more and more, and this week was no different. Obrun opting for this formation with a very familiar setup.

Only real thing to note is his left fullback being on Balanced and the right back being on Defend.

Emre Yilmaz: 4-4-1-1

Emre went with another popular formation, the 4-4-1-1 gets alot of use and post patch I expect to see it more often and will push out the 4-4-2.

Another pretty standard setup here, again utilising one attacking fullback.

Yuval: 4-2-1-3

Yuval again opting for the 4-2-1-3 with two Romaing Inside Forwards, and two Balanced Fullbacks.

With this formation you can see his midfielders all having passing PlayStyle+.

GuiBarros10: 4-2-3-1 (Narrow)

Not a formation you see often, Gui Barros going for the 4-2-3-1 Narrow, this is definitely the most unique setup of the day. Two Roaming Playmaker CAMs and the left one on Build Up is not something we see often.

This type of set up would take some practice for you to really feel where your players move on and off the ball.

Umut: 4-2-1-3

A very similar setup to Yuval, however Umut choosing the Deep Lying Playmaker roles for his CDM over the Holding role.

There are a few variants of this formation and the small changes in roles wis really about personal prefernce and how you want your players to move on and off the ball.

Tekkz: 4-4-2

Tekkz opting for the once popular 4-4-2, this setup is also very standard with one attacking CM and one defensive, with both wide players operating as Inside Forwards.

This was a very popular setup post patch, however over time we will likely see more players move away from the 4-4-2 and move towards the 4-4-1-1 or even the 4-2-1-3.
