FC Pro Open Custom Tactics (Match Week 5)

Match Week 5 of the FC Pro Open wraps up Group A, making it the first group to complete all their matches and confirm the first three players advancing to the knockout stages.

It was all to play for at the start of the week, with every player still in the running for qualification. Mark and Charif had the toughest task ahead, but the race for the top three spots remained wide open until the final whistle.

Before we get into the tactics, let’s take a quick look at the Match Week 5 results and standings. Mark’s day got off to a rough start with a late equalizer from Jafonso in Round 1, and unfortunately, it set the tone for him. On the flip side, StingrayJR absolutely stole the show, winning every game and racking up goals in style, making it crystal clear who was in charge of the group.

Here’s how Group A wrapped up: StingrayJR, Jafonso, and FacuCowen secured the three qualification spots, with FacuCowen narrowly clinching third place on goal difference. It was a nail-biting finish for those vying for that final spot. Unfortunately, the players in 4th to 6th place are now out of the competition.

Now, the bit you have all been waiting for, let’s get into the Tactics.

StingrayJR: 4-4-2

Stingray went with the classic 4-4-2 setup, a balanced and reliable formation with no major surprises. What stood out, though, was his choice to use the 93-rated Kane. While not a common pick in the pro scene, Kane’s excellent passing PlayStyles and Finesse Shot PlayStyle+ make him a unique and effective attacking option.

Jafonso: 4-4-1-1

Jafonso opted for the 4-4-1-1, a formation that’s become a staple in the pro scene. His setup focuses on defensive stability with both CMs set to Holding roles. To balance things out offensively, he has one fullback on Wingback, providing an extra attacking outlet when needed down that side.

FacuCowen: 4-4-2

FacuCowen also went with the 4-4-2, another tried-and-tested formation. Similar to Stingray’s setup, the only notable difference is the Wingback role on one of his fullbacks, offering an extra layer of width when attacking. Up front, he’s gone for a more conventional attacking duo with Vini Jr. and Neymar, adding flair and creativity to his attack.

Charif: 4-2-1-3

Charif opted for the 4-2-1-3, a formation that’s hugely popular among the community but less common in the pro scene. It’s a defensively solid setup, with its main strength being its exceptional ability to launch quick and effective counterattacks.

NiKSNEB: 4-2-3-1 Wide

Niksneb went with the 4-2-3-1 Wide variant, a formation closely resembling the popular 4-4-1-1 but with two CDMs, making it a more defensive option. His setup features two Deep-Lying Playmakers in midfield and a left-back on Wingback to provide additional attacking support when needed.

Mark11: 4-4-2

Mark opted for the 4-4-2, by far the most popular formation in the pro scene. The twist in his setup is having one of his wide players set to the Winger role, providing extra width, while both CMs are on Box-to-Box, a choice that stands out as most pros typically go for one on Playmaker.
