What is FUT Moments?

FUT Moments is a brand new game mode in FIFA Ultimate team, FUT Moments is a single player experience in which you complete a variety of short scenarios and challenges to earn a new reward currency called FUT Stars, everything you need to know regarding FUT Stars will be covered later in this article.


The aim of FUT Moments is to provide unique challenges, ranging from skills training to recreating real football match highlights.


Throughout the FIFA 23 lifecycle these challenges and scenarios will be regularly updated and added to in order to ensure the mode stays current and fresh for new and existing players.


FUT Moments can be broken down into Stories, Chapters and Moments which we will cover in this article.


Where Can I find FUT Moments in game and how can I play FUT Moments?


FUT Moments is found within FIFA Ultimate Team, once you are in FIFA Ultimate Team you can find this mode simply by selecting the Play page and clicking the Moments tab.


What are FUT Stars?

FUT Stars is the brand new currency in FIFA 23 associated with the FUT Moments game mode.


The amount of FUT Stars you have collected can be seen top left alongside all your other in game currency.


How do I earn FUT Stars?

Progressing in FUT Moments earns you FUT Stars, and this currency can be exchanged in the Moments Star Galley for Rewards, further information about rewards and currency can be found later within the article.

What are Stories?

When you enter FUT Moments you will be presented with a list of Stories, it has been confirmed that each Story will be based on Seasonal Themes, FUT Campaigns, or real events from football’s past or present.


Some Stories will be time limited and will need to be completed before they expire, while other Stories will be available throughout the duration of FIFA 23.


As you can see the Rise of Mbappe has an expiry time associated with it, however the Milestones Story has no expiry associated with it, meaning you will be able to complete this any time throughout the duration of FIFA 23.


What are Chapters?

Within a Story you will find multiple Chapters, and the number of Chapters vary from Story to Story.


When you enter a Story you will be given access to the first Chapter, in some cases two Chapters may be available however usually you will get access just to the first Chapter.


Stories with multiple Chapters will have multiple locked Chapters, the way in which you unlock these are by earning FUT Stars within the Story.


As you can see here the example shows the Milestones Story, you are granted initial access to the Beginner Chapter and in order to gain access to the Amateur Chapter you must earn 4 FUT Stars within the Milestones Story.


What are Moments?

Within a Chapter you will be presented with multiple Moments, these Moments are essentially the Challenges and Scenarios which you need to complete in order earn FUT Stars to progress through the Chapters.


Moments have one to three Challenges that you are required to perform to complete the Moment and earn the associated FUT Stars.


Each Moment contains the following

  • Description

    • This is a brief description of what the Moment is about and this also gives tips on how to perform the required actions needed to complete the Challenge.

  • Challenge

    • This is the specific requirements needed to be met in game in order to complete the Challenge.

    • This information is also available in game and is shown top right of the screen during gameplay

  • Reward Level

    • This is essentially a difficulty modifier, and the harder the difficulty you choose the more FUT Stars you can earn upon completion

    • By upping the Reward Level this will make adjustments to the Within and Modifiers section of the Moment

    • To up the Reward Level simply move the right analog stick to the right to select the next level

  • Squad Requirements

    • Certain Moments have specific squad requirements, this can range from requiring a specific overall team rating to requiring “x amount of players from a league or team”.

  • Within

    • This is simply the time in which you are required to complete the challenge, this time is stated in in-game minutes, also as stated previously if you up the Reward Level this will decrease the amount of time in which you have to complete the Challenge.

  • Modifiers

    • This is essentially the difficulty of the AI opposition you will face within the Challenge, as stated previously if you increase the Reward Level this will increase the AI difficulty and this is shown within the Modifiers section.


In game, at the end of every Moment you will see which Challenges you have completed and, if you were successful, how many FUT Stars you earned.


How many retries do I get?

You can retry any Challenge as many times as you wish, either from in game or from the Moment menu.


Can I earn FUT Stars from Moments I have already completed?

No, once you have completed the Reward Level you can no longer earn FUT Stars from that Reward Level/Moment.


Does FUT Moments use up contracts/loan matches?

No, FUT Moments do not use up any games on loan players or cost any of your own players a contract.


Does FUT Moments count towards player stats?

No, FUT Moments do add any stats to any players that participate in the Challenge gameplay.


How Many Stars Can I collect?

Currently you can collect a total of 230 FUT Stars



This will increase throughout the season, because as of now Rise of Mbappe is due to expire halfway through the Season which implies we will see something new once that expires.

What are Bonus FUT Stars?

Bonus FUT Stars essentially group reward stars, these are obtained once you have completed all Moments within a Chapter.


The example below shows that once you have completed all 4 Moments within the Chapter you will receive 1 Bonus FUT Star, these Bonus FUT Stars vary depending on the Story and Chapter.


Where do I Spend FUT Stars?

FUT Stars can be spent in the Star Gallery, this can be found within the Moments section and is the very first panel before scrolling across to the available Stories.


Within the Star Gallery there are two tabs, one is Browse and the other is Seasonal, the packs within the Browse section have no limit on how many times you can open them, however the packs within the Seasonal section all have a varying limit on how many times you redeem them.


My understanding is that the Browse section will remain the same throughout the duration of FIFA 23, and the Season section will change at the start of each season.


What can I spend my FUT Stars on?

Within the Browse section of the Star Gallery there are two packs available, a Gold Pack for 12 FUT Stars and a Premium Gold Pack for 16 FUT Stars


Currently within the Seasonal section of the Star Gallery there is total of 328 FUT Stars worth of redeemable content.


Items within the Seasonal section of the Star Gallery have a limit on how many times they can be redeemed.



I expect the list of redeemable content will change throughout the Season as we have already had two new items added to the Seasonal section since release (Coach Beard & Ted Lasso).

Are the items from the Star Gallery tradable?

Yes, all contents from the packs, picks and items are all tradable at this moment in time, however if in the future items are put into the store as untradeable this will be specified on the items/packs/pick.

Can I buy items from the Star Gallery and save them for a later date?

No, as soon as you purchase the item it will open instantly, therefore the best option is to save the stars and buy the items when you want to open them.

What should I spend my FUT Stars on?

This is a question which for this current season there is no definitive answer for, the best advice I would give is to open the Seasonal packs that give players and save the FUT Stars for future content.


Some may choose to redeem the FUT Draft Tokens which is also a good option if you want to play some FUT Draft.


Personally I would avoid the 81-83 Rated Rare Players Pick (1of5), the Rare Consumables Pack and the Gold Contracts Pack.

Do my FUT Stars Carry into Next Season?

Yes, your FUT Stars currency does not reset at any point throughout FIFA 23, therefore you are able to collect all the stars and save them for future content should you wish.
