Hey guys, it’s me, Tillian, here. Back again with another article. Today I’m starting my new series based around Predictions, as I do with TOTWs, but now- I’m predicting Marquee Matchups for the next week.
I’m also doing not basic predictions: just matches and info about them, but I’m doing with some investment tips and some other stuff that you’ll see later in the article.
As many of you, me also playing this year without spending money on FIFA Points, so investing in some players are one of the only ways to gain coins.
I’m always buying players for MM’s a week earlier, to be safe and not spending too much on overhyped players. And I recommend this to you, as it’s the safest way. So if you are mistaken with them-you won’t lose tons of coins.
Recently, I started spending my Tuesdays in Real Life, so I couldn’t grab a lot of profit. So I decided to share some info and knowledge to you.
Let’s start it off with some basic information for you.
What Marquee Matchups are?
It’s SBC for FUT 18 with 4 “marquee” matches chosen from the games on the next weekend.
1 SBC with 4 requirements and 5 rewards.
For every completed match you get a reward. Different pack for different match. And after you completed them all- you get a Big pack for completing SBC. It’s usually pack that costs from 35k to 50k.
Matches are chosen by EA. How they chose it- I don’t know, so we can only speculate on that.
Why investing in MM’s are worth it?
Well, basically- you can buy players for cheaper than they’ll be on Tuesday evening. Profit can wary from 500 coins to 10k, like it was with Melbourne Match.
I’ll do them by tiers:
1. Very likely
2-3. Medium likeness of the match
4. Not quite likely to be in included
For the next week’s Marquee Matchups, that are gonna be on 31st of October- I’ve chosen this matches to be “Possibly” included.
Tier 1: Very likely matches:
Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern.
One of the most expected matches of the weekend. 1st vs 2nd in Bundesliga. One of the best matches in Football currently. Top teams with quality players gonna battle on the football pitch.
Most likely requirements:
-1 player from each team
-Overall rating of 80
-5 or more players from Bundesliga
-95 Chemistry
-At least 5 rares
-Germany players: 4 or more
What to invest to: Cheap BVB players: Weigl, Castro, Schmelzer and Weidenfeiler. And cheap Bayern players: Rafinha, Rudy, Coman
Worth investing?: No. In my opinion, maximum profit per card: 500 coins. Too many options from teams.
Boca Juniors vs River Plate
One of the “Fire” derbies in the world. Old rivalry that goes on for ages. I expect this to be in MM’s for sure, but don’t quote me on that
Most likely requirements:
-2 players from Boca+River
-3 gold players
-4 Argentinian players
-90 Chemistry
What to invest to: Full backs from both teams. I can expect them to be near extinct, as there are only 1 per position from each team. Fabra and Casco for LBs, Peruzzi and Moreira for RBs.
Worth investing?: Hell yeah. Even if this derby won’t be chosen- then you’ll able to sell on hype, few hours before it’s release.
Tier 2. Medium matches.
Genoa vs Sampdoria.
Derby from the same city. Not a high profile derby for people like us, but in Italy-it’s huge. Why I’m not expecting it in the first tier? Because recently we got a match from Italy, so it’s hard to see them including 2 in a row.
Most likely requirements:
-1 player from each team
-Overall rating of 78
-5 Italian players
-6+ players from Calcio A
-95 chemistry
What to invest to: I can see them making it 3 at the back formation, so I’d invest in Italians from those teams: Bertolacci, Rossettini, Rigoni, Lapadula from Genoa and Silvestre( can see him going for a lot of coins), Viviano and Quagliarelly from Sampdoria.
Worth investing?: Imo, it’s worth to invest in cheap defenders from those teams. I can see them rising to Sevilla level and being 2k+.
Manchester City vs Arsenal \ Chelsea vs Manchester United. 2 high profile games from Premier League. Not derbies, but really really important matches. Can see at least 1 being in the Marquee Matchups.
Most likely requirements:
-1 player from each teams
-Overall rating of 81
-6 players from Premier League
-2 English players
-At least 6 nationalities
-At least 7 rares
-95 Chemistry
What to invest to: Best to invest in some cheap players, like Zappacosta or Fellaini or some cheap Arsenal players.
Worth investing? IMO, Totally no. Why? Too many players and ways to complete it. Maximum profit 250 coins per card.
St Etienne vs Lyon.
I highly expect this to be a MM’s and only 1 thing did put me from putting it in tier-1. Not many people notice that this is huge derby in France. Lyon vs St Etienne is one of the “hottest” matches in French league and I can surely see it being in MM’s
Most likely requirements
-3 players from both teams
-Overall rating of 79
-6 players from Ligue 1
-4 French players or minimum nationalities being 4
-95 chemistry
What to invest to: Cheap French players from both teams: Yanga-M’biwa, Grenier, Ferri, Cabella, Diony.
Worth investing? Yeah, I think it is. Just don’t buy too much players, because there are many options. Can see all of those players being 2k or more.
Tier 3. Least expected matches.
Anderlecht vs Club Brugge.
I can see it being a Marquee Matchup, but not likely. It’s a big game in Belgium, but they can pass it on and not include.
Most likely requirements:
-2 players from both teams
-at least 4 golds
-at least 3 Belgium players
-90 chemistry
What to invest to: Cheap Belgium players from both teams. From Brugge: Vanaken and Vossen. From Anderlecht: Sels, Dendoncker, Kums. If there’s a RB\LB formation- LBs and RBs from Belgium league will rise massively.
Worth investing? In my opinion yes, but not a lot. I’d invest maximum 5k, so I won’t lose too much, but in case of including- I’ll make a double or triple of that.
Bristol City vs Cardiff City. Huge Championship game from the top of the league. I don’t know much about this matchup, but I’ve been told that it’s huge game and it’s possible to be in MMs.
Most likely requirements:
-2 players from both teams combined
-90 chemistry
-rating at least 67
-at least 2 English players
What to invest to: Full backs and wingers from both teams. They are rare and they will be expensive. I’d buy at least 2 from each team to each position, to be safe and not to lose much.
Worth investing? Yes, there will be hyped created and you could sell on the next Tuesday to make a huge profit
And the last match:
Lechia Gdansk vs Arka Gdynia
Big game in Polish league. Players already rising a bit. So if you want to invest in this match- it’s the best time to.
Most likely requirements:
-2 players from both teams combined
-90 chemistry
-at least 5 from Polish league
-at least 4 Polish players
What to invest to: Full backs, wingers and 1 gold player from that league. He’ll be expensive.
Worth investing? Yeah, save investment and you’ll be able to make profit
Okay and the last info for you. Sell on hype.
If you want to make 100% profit-start selling investments on a Tuesday morning. It’s a low risk medium reward, and you won’t lose guaranteed profit this way.
If you are sure about Match and know that it’ll be 100% included – keep investments prior to announcement. This way you’ll make high profit, but it’s also a high risk.
