Today at Gamescom we had the opportunity to taste what's new and on the way for EA's free to play FIFA game, FIFA World. If you're new to FIFA World, or not sure what it is, check out our article about it here!

The main talking point is the new gameplay engine, due to launch before the new year.

Smarter AI
Stay onside runs and better attacking runs give fans more variety on offense.

Complete Dribbling
With Precision 2.0 and the enhanced Face Up Dribble, fans are given complete control on the pitch.

First Touch Control
More realistic error when controlling the incoming ball creates variety in every touch.

Re-designed Keyboard and Mouse Controls
EA have improved the Keyboard and Mouse code and functionality giving fans more control.

Tactical Free Kicks
You can now add a 2nd and 3rd kick taker and create exciting free kick combinations, while the defense can add/subtract players from the wall. The wall can also creep forward, but risk getting a yellow card!

Video Sharing

Another really great feature that will be available relatively soon is video sharing. From the game you'll be able to save and upload your replays directly to Youtube. Showing off your skills will never have been so easy!

Possible Generations Mode?

This has not been confirmed - But Mike McCabe mentioned something interesting in the press conference.

At the moment, EA Sports FIFA World is currently in Beta and using a database of players that's very close to FIFA 14. However, when the FIFA World comes out of Beta, all the players and items you already have in your club will still be available.

Whether this means we could see a playable generations mode or not, we don't know. It got us excited at the thought of it!

Our Thoughts

EA Sports FIFA World was already a pretty good game, even in BETA. The new gameplay engine has really improved things for me. It feels a lot more like FIFA 14 as opposed to FIFA 12. Which was my only real issue with the game beforehand.

We'll definitely be giving this a lot of play time. It's fun, it's free and it plays great on pretty much any PC!
