Registered a solid 12/18 last week which I'm more than happy with, given my scores in the two weeks prior to that. Lets hope that we can continue with those numbers this week as some more leagues return!

As far as MLS debuts go, I can't imagine Steven Gerrard could've imagined his going any better. Yes, Galaxy may have found themselves 2-0 down after 22 minutes in the California Clásico, however Gerrard and his ex-Liverpool teammate Robbie Keane were not messing about. The former Liverpool captain scored once on his debut and also had a role in two of Keane's three goals as LA Galaxy ended up running out 5-2 winners.

The other standout players in this week's prediction are almost certainly the Brazilian duo of Hulk and Alex Texeira. Both ensured their sides got their seasons in Russia and Ukraine respectively off to winning start. The standout performance of the week however has to go to former Villarreal, Bordeaux and Spartak Moscow striker Fernando Cavenaghi. The Argentinian, who is currently in his third spell at South American giants River Plate, scored 4 goals and assisted another against Atletico Rafaela at the weekend!
