Thought I might be hitting the heights of 18 or 19 out of 23 last week, however I'm happy with 15 given I didn't see anyone better it. Onto this week and I'm afraid we won't be hitting the dizzy heights that we did in TOTW19, but this week's side is still a good looking one nonetheless!

Hello, how may I assist you?

Some players have already picked up a remarkable number of assists this season, Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and, of course, Nicky Wheeler himself to name a few. They would’ve been proud of the performances of two box-to-box midfielders in Europe over weekend, two players who aren’t necessarily renowned for their creative prowess. The first performance came from Blaise Matuidi, who assisted three of Paris Saint-Germain’s five in a win over Angers; Angel di Maria is also in my selection following that game after netting two goals himself. The other performance came from Andres Guardado of PSV Eindhoven who, like Matuidi, registered three assists from central midfield. Two of those were for his national teammate, Hector Moreno, who also scored two goals and finds himself in this week’s TOTW first XI.

Almost 1,000 career appearances between them…

…and Alexander Meier of Eintracht Frankfurt and Aritz Aduriz of Athletic Bilbao are still showing they can cut it. The former scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Wolfsburg, taking his league tally for the season to 10 from 14 appearances; not bad for someone who isn’t considered an out-and-out striker. Aduriz this season has arguably been even more impressive, especially in all competitions. The veteran Spaniard has 25 goals from 21 appearances, which of course includes his hat-trick in the Super Cup against Barcelona. He also took his league total for the season to 13 on Sunday with two fantastic goals against Eibar, one of which was a spectacular bicycle kick.

Enjoy Folks! #PACKPARTY
