How to take set pieces in EA FC 24

Set pieces are crucial in-game. Over the last few years they weren’t as effective as this year, so we’ll try to teach you how to score from set pieces. We asked our pro Dylan to show a couple of ways to score from set pieces directly and indirectly.

First example is direct free kick. These are very easy on this year’s game. You don’t need to move the cursor at all. What you’ll see is: Dylan’s got Eusebio on the ball, he moves the position to about the last man on the wall, it's an inswinging free kick, about 2 bars of power, green timed it – and it should fly into the top corner.

Very similar example to the last one Dylan showed you. He aims kind of at the last man in the wall, about 2 bars of power with De Bruyne, green shot and it should fly into the top corner.

Free Kicks don’t need to be taken directly every time. You can see in this situation, Dylan is a bit too far out to shoot, so he selects Van Dijk, he puts 3 bars of power, he holds square, he moves VVD with left stick.

Then he knocks the ball down with X

And then he shoots at goal with Mbappe and scores.

Here's another example. He’s even further down the pitch, but he just puts a bit more power, when he presses the square. He drags VVD to the back post here, where there’s less defenders.

He knocks down the ball with X by using VVD’s height and smashes it into the net.
